Review 1：We expected a hair dryer but did not find one. The church next door chimes every quarter hour which may disturb light sleepers.

Review 2：Renata is a wonderful hostess. She could not go out of her way more to make people feel comfortable and looked after notably at breakfast.

Review 3：Bathrooms very old, musty with faded writing on the walls and broken soap dispensers. The bath over shower didn't drain properly so it meant standing in water all the time. We got a twin room as there were no double rooms, and the the one bed had a spalk missing, so you would fall through it. They did not make/clean the room at all during our 2 night stay.

Review 4：Breakfast was good, but they did not cater for the amount of guests in the guesthouse. There was not enough food for everyone. The lady , Renate, at the front desk was lovely. Close to the train station

Review 5：In wilderswil and not in interlaken. However, drive to interlaken in less than 5 minutes. Have to drive across a wooden bridge wide enough for 1 car with a sharp turn and a blind spot at the end. Slightly dangerous, in my opinion. Room looks old. Corridor is dark. Front door slams very loudly

Review 10：The ceiling in the bathroom is a bit low. So, when taking a shower, you may have to lower your body. But it was okay if you use bath tub.

Review 11：The staff, Renata, was super kind, friendly and helpful. She made sure every guest had a good time staying at Gasthaus Steinbock. Breakfast was lovely and you couldn't ask for more with this great price. Although the walk way to the hotel was not so convenient (eps if you have big luggages), you will definitely see a stunning view from where this hotel is located. This hotel is also near Wilderswil station, where it is very easy to catch a train to Interlaken West and Ost, or to Grindle wald.

Review 12：Room No. 202, Bathroom is not so good. It is very congested and your head will bang on the sloped roof once you try to get off the bathtub. People coming with heavy luggage will have to climb up the stairs (There is no elevator).

Review 13：Staff is very gentle. The lady at the reception was very welcoming and nice. She also helped us with some nice suggestions in and around Interlaken. Breakfast was good.

Review 14：The accommodation could have been cleaner. Brighter lighting would also greatly improve the "feel" of the place. It was expensive by comparison with French and Italian properties we stayed at.

Review 15：The location is good: very handy for Interlaken, the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the mountains (close to the railway station) and the main road network. While the accommodation is fairly basic, it has to be remembered that it is an old Alpine-style lodge and that is its charm. The breakfasts were very good and the hostess extremely helpful. We actually loved the roaring river (and the amazing old bridge and church), but some visitors may find the noise too much for them.

Review 16：Close to transport to Jungfrau, had really parking plenty of space. Lady was really helpful and nice. She gave us some idea's on restaurants and timetables savings. Pleasant stay.

Review 20：Slightly expensive but it is a lovely old building with a beautiful view nevertheless. It is beside a historic church and a graveyard, giving it an old feel.. . It is walking distance from Wilderswil train station. Berner Oberland Shopping Centre is also about a km walk. They will check in new bookings only when the staff arrives in the morning around 6:30 AM if there is a room available. In switzerland no check ins happen post 10 PM as they lock the hotel doors. Only people with prior bookings can enter with a code.

Review 21：The fact that you need to have a ride to get to the city, however you will always need a ride to go to the mountains even if you are in the city.

Review 22：Location is perfect, just out of the door is a small river from the alps. 2 minutes walk from the train station where you will pick the train that will take you into Interlaken within 5 minutes. Staff was terrific, Mrs. Renata was very helpful with info & she gave us free pass to ride public transportation.

The Hostess was very kind and nice lady, made us feel at home all the times :) Excellent for nature lovers, the water stream is also for canoeing. There is a beautiful Town which you cross to go to Winderswill Railway station, only 5min walk, from there Interlaken OST is 4mins on Train 'R'..the whole experience was very memorable.

Review 28：My bed was very comfortable. However, on the last night it collapsed. We exposed the problem which was the slats had slipped off the ledge. We put it together again with very little trouble. Nothing was broken. I probably sat on the edge at an awkward angle. We were there for 8 days, and would have appreciated a more varied breakfast. Same every day.

Review 37：Service was not good. Hygiene facilities were poor and out of 4 nights, on one of the nights the bed and room were not made up. Bathroom was also very inconvenient, with low ceiling and we could not stand up straight. Shower was not working properly. Location not good as it is located next to a graveyard. Review 41：The only down side was the room we were in gets quite hot and the only window in the room when we open it at night a lot of moths and bugs fly in. If it had a mesh would have been better. But the host lady did ask if it was hot and gave us a fan. Also I started getting bad allergic symptoms when I went back to the b&b. Not sure if it was from the room or just the area had lots of pollens. All in all it was an enjoyable stay.

Review 43：Wifi only worked in one of our rooms (due to mountains around perhaps), bed had furry sheet on it which I thought was a mattress protector but they said that's how it was, it was clean so was okay! Ask for Visitors Pass, we nearly paid for tickets to Interlaken but lady at train station told us to go back and ask for pass from accommodation. Would have been helpful to have been given it up front.

Review 44：Comfortable rooms, great location, glad we chose Wilderswil over Interlaken, friendly staff member Renata helped us and packed us a great brunch to take with us on our last day as we left before breakfast started. Ask for Visitors Pass to train to Interlaken for free. Close to train station, beautiful outlook over river, walk everywhere. Beautiful little village. Good basic rooms, bathrooms and breakfast.

Review 45：we arrived at 8pm - the guesthouse was locked up and no one answered the door bell - fortunately other returning guests let us in. No one to greet us - just our name on table in reception with key, no welcoming note etc etc. room was poorly lit as some lights did not work, general lack of electric sockets , only one in the room, bathroom was very very small , in need of refurb and poorly lit . we arrived for breakfast - everything had been eaten so we skipped and went elsewhere. next day not much better. hotel owners don't speak any English and certainly not friendly of welcoming.

Review 47：We let them know we would be arriving early, and they approved the early time. Unfortunately when we arrived at that time (a window of an hour), we had to wait outside about 20-30 min until the door opened by another guest. Once we entered, they told us that check in time was later and the room simply was not ready. After much dissection of language differences we basically dropped our stuff in the room while it was being finished and went along with our day.

Review 48：When you are in Switerland, its a great idea to really enjoy the small villages and go a little outside the city. this location did just that, by allowing us to stay next to a beautiful river and adjacent to a kloister! (basically felt like we were living in the center village, since we walked through it each day).

Review 67：The location was wonderful along a flowing river. We had a balcony overlooking the mountains - so peaceful and serene.. The breakfast was first class. The dinner was delicious too with a first class chef. The manager was very helpful and courteous at all times. I liked being in a small community of Wilderswil which was close to Interlaken but not as busy and crowded. We were right near the train station and bus stop so access to Schnage Platte and Jungfrauhoch was very easy to get to. The gasthaus was quiet and serene

Their TexMex style restaurant is pricey but well worth the money. Their London trained chef serves food like the best resorts. We were offered various suggestions for attractions. Don't miss the short drive/walk to Lauterbrunnen Valley.
