Reviews for The Dom Hotel - The Dom Collection
Review 1:Perfect hotel, only thing that could make it better was a spa.
Review 2:Great comfort, stylish rooms with lighting settings and heated floors in the bathroom and shower. Great breakfast and wonderful service.
Review 3:The WC (not the bathroom) was super small. The bath floor towel seemed not to be changed for the full stay (we are not really sure, it was a bit smelly at the end).
Review 4:The hotel is well located, not far from the ski lifts, close to sport shops where you can rent all equipment needed. The building looks recently renovated, everything is new and clean. The hotel is well equipped (modern and functional ski storage, restaurant, bar, free shuttle, wifi, etc.). We felt very welcome; we were served with a welcome drink, in the room we had some snacks, we got a Christmas gift and some theme food for the 1st day of Christmas. The room was cozy (a pleasent mix between 'chalet' style and modernity), very well equipped (coffee machine, iPad, sleepers, bathrobes, touchscreen for light management, balcony furnitures, etc.), with a nice view over the mountains. We had a very comfortable bed. We loved the shower made of black shale. The WC and the bathroom were separated. Regarding the breakfast, the staff is nice and helpful, the quality of the food was excellent, more than standard (fresh honey from the comb, local products, ...).
Review 5:The prices at the restaurant could have been somewhat lower when comparing with similar restaurants in the area.
Review 6:Everything during our stay was perfect and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is targeting mainly couples and it's quite romantic and cozy. On the other hand, I don't think two friends would feel confortable having the shower directly next to the bed, but for couples this is nice. The "hi tech" lights inside the room make a nice romantic atmosphere. The location is right at the center of the village and for skiing or for carrying luggage back to the bus station the hotel provides its own taxi service for free.
Review 7:Once again, great welcome, wonderful staff, gorgeous room, perfect location and amazing dinner in the restaurant. Cannot recommend this lovely hotel enough!
Review 8:Ipad control was not working or we were not able to understand it :) but we did not need it, so we did not asked the reception for help.
Review 9:Wellness is available in nearest hotel Du Glacier. Perfect location in the heart of Saas Fee. Kind personnel, ready to help. Shuttles to anywhere you want, just ask the reception. Good big balcony, very beautiful view. Good breakfast, there is always available coffee in rooms, tea near reception, apples and so on. Skiroom is available.
Review 10:A wellness area with sauna, jacuzzi, pool would have made it even more perfect.
Review 11:The deluxe room is really worth the extra money... free standing bath, lots of space, nice materials. Breakfast plenty of choice. Location bang in the center of Saas-Fee.
Review 12:This is a newly renovated and decorated hotel in the style of "modern alpine charm". The breakfast is excellent, with just about all you can ask for. The standard double room and the bathroom were both large and impeccably clean. The view (we were on the 4th floor) was magnificent. The multi-lingual staff were kind and helpful. Last, but not least, dining on the terrace outside is wonderful on a sunny day.
Review 13:Cleanliness and the staff. My iPad was broken as they had to force open the in-room safe (which was not opening anymore) and they managed the situation poorly in a very rude manner. Only the hotel manager was kind, still the vacation suffered from this unpleasant experience.
Review 14:Location, right in the centre yet stil very comfortable to reach the lifts. Breakfast, a feast of local delicacies.
Review 15:The pillows could be more comfortable.
Review 16:Great location, traditional in the outside and modern in the inside, with a boutique hotel feel. Very friendly and helpful staff, stylish rooms with a great view (and free apples!). Accommodating with young children. Also, nice bar with a terrace outside.
Review 17:All the staff are very nice and helpful, espeacial the receptionist, our every request they handled at once. The restaurant is good, both dinner and breakfast are wonderful. Saas-fee is a beautiful place to visit.
Review 18:Centrally located it was easy to access the different cable cars and gondolas. It was my birthday while I stayed and the very friendly lady on reception presented me with a bottle of white wine from the local region
Review 19:Nothing!
Review 20:A great stay at this excellent hotel. We stayed 2 years ago and decided to return this year. Love the breakfast, lots of choice and any kind of eggs made fresh in the kitchen. Staff all very friendly and the welcome drink was well received. Room really comfortable with great bed and seating area. Bottles of water and apples every day when we returned from ski ing. Lift to the cable car every morning in The Dom's very cool electric car was a bonus and saved walking with skis and boots! Downstairs bar is very relaxing, good music and great burgers. Did not eat in the restaurant but menu looked good and real value for money. Would highly recommend this hotel, just wonderful and situated bang in the centre of beautiful Saas Fee.
Review 21:No communal area for guests with fire place such as a living room, library, etc. Only in reception. The wake up call at 7 am from the church bell.
Review 22:Fantastic location, bang in the centre of town. Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Lively and fun bar.
Review 23:Ordered omelette for breakfast which was tasteless like rubber. All other food top class and a huge selection. I would recommend more pillows in the room for added luxury.
Review 24:Excellent huge rooms and always warm. WIFI worked 100% all the time, free taxi included in price and was always available. Restaurant staff and breakfast very pleasant. Fantastic ski storage in basement along with trendy bar. Definitely would stay again
Review 25:no negatives
Review 26:We love this place and enjoy staying here whenever we visit Saas Fee. It is in the center of the village next to the church which you can see from the busterminal. There are electric taxis, recommended if you have a lot of luggage or mobility issues. Charming and attentive staff. Good food (we like the beef filet topped with the grilled goose liver) excellent breakfast buffet plus eggs cooked to order. Smart room controlled by Ipad, table at sitting area in room cleverly conceals a mini fridge.
Review 27:We asked and paid a luxury room at full rate after the increase of Swiss franc with no counterpart of the hotel: we received a room just above the very noisy bar and had to wait each night for silence until morning!!! For stars hotel and deluxe room??? We left the hotel one day earlier due to noise and asked not to pay the latest night,, we send 4 e-mails But still waiting for answer: even there the hotel is not in line with reasonable expextations! Saas-Fee? Yes, but next time a better hotel as Ferien-art And concerns booking.com: this time we got no support from them even after few mails. Even if any objective input from our side. There also, alternatives do exist.
Review 28:Superb skiing village and a few good restaurants around the hotel
Review 29:(not worth to mention) - the ventilator in the WC was working loud
Review 30:- very fast travel parking / hotel / ski area with personal taxi - super speed - almost too kind personel - very comfort rooms very comfotable bed, big TV, super toilette and everything really setup to be easy for living - rooms have very nice view with big balcony - rooms are very warm - many TV chanels and fast internet - many light options in the room - fast acces to restuarants shops, migros and coop - breakfest was simple but nice and tasty - although other comments there is completly no nosie from the near standing church
Review 31:Hotel rennovation used lots of untreated wood - which is extremely cool. But there seem to be guests that do not treat this properly. Not the hotels fault.
Review 32:- they picked us up at the bus terminal - the whole place has a consistent modern style - deliberately no wellness. Makes more sense to establish cool central wellness facilities than each hotel has their tiny own one. - pleasant bar with live music
Review 33:The lighting system was too complicated (too hi tech) Would have been nice to have a bath (for young child) Coffee machine didn't appear to work.
Review 34:Friendly & helpful staff Great location Excellent food Good Wi-Fi
Review 35:No spa, the sheets in our sons rooms were not changed during the eight nights we were there, I asked for a change in our room.
Review 36:Simplicity of the raw Swiss Pine decor, the rooms sizes were fantastic, very friendly staff, position, excellent pub burgers loved by our three sons. Tea selection always freely available with the most most delicious biscuits.
Review 37:Breakfast first morning was chaotic and after waiting a while gave up. However, my annoyance was tempered in the evening when we returned from skiing and found a lovely note and a bottle of Dom wine. Next 2 days were fine.
Review 38:Friendly staff Nice room Comfy bed Good sat TV coverage
Review 39:The bar needs work. The (mostly empty) bar/restaurant took 90mins to serve 8 burgers to our group of friends and had mistakes in the orders. We had traveled far and were starving. They served one after an hour which was cold when the others arrived (and made waiting that much harder). The mostly unhelpful servers said the kitchen was closed (it was 9pm on a friday). The bar also had a terrible sound system, and cheap dive bar lights, and somehow didn't have sparkling water for a pregnant mother in the group. Four star quality? When entering the hotel hallways the motion sensing lighting system also often failed to trigger so I had to pull out my cell phone light often to see. Perhaps the most annoying thing about the stay was the motion sensing water tap in the bathrooms also didn't trigger properly so I would spend a couple mins every time trying to get the proper hand motion to it turned on. Then I couldn't turn it off. I'm an IT consultant and this was not user friendly. I can tell the Dom is trying very hard to be techie (iPads in the bedrooms, auto everything, wifi everywhere, touch screen mood lighting, apps etc), but ironically that was my least favorite part of the hotel. If you're going to do it, do it right. Most electronic utilities seemed to have some flaw. And if you're going to have iPads be sure that you reset it before every visit. There was a lot of personal information left on the device from previous visitors who are probably unaware, not to mention it makes using it awkward with all the customization people do to them.
Review 40:Hotel rooms, service, staff, breakfast were all excellent.
Review 41:It's located near the city church, which starts tolling its bells around 7.30 am, so you have absolutely no chance to sleep long. That wasn't a problem for us, but it's smthg to keep in mind
Review 42:Great hotel, apparently it's considered to be quite a posh place in Saas-Fee :) Great rooms with wood&stone design, good materials that look good and expensive. Wonderful beds. Special lights-control system (there are plenty of lights in the room and you can switch them on/off/dim from a single control + there are preprogrammed groups for different moods). Very good breakfast. We didn't have a chance to check their restaurant unfortanutely, but bar is quite cozy. Personel was very helpful with helping us to choose a restaurant. Also, we used hotel electric-car taxi that got us right to our car on a car parking - at no additional cost. So overall we got a great deal for our money, it's a top hotel.
Review 43:Saas Fee was not so grand as it seemed last time I saw it 30 years ago. The slow lifts still seemed the same as in the 80's -ughh! The village is still charming but it has lost its 5* grandeur to a mass of 3* public.
Review 44:The hotel was really wonderful. Staff, service, good views, great breakfast buffet selection, interior, comfort, quiet, no neighbour noise. I found the modern mountain style very appealing. It manages to look really designy while making you feel at home. The rain shower is fab.
Review 45:Nothing
Review 46:Very good reception for our honey moon with chocolate hearts spread all over the bed and a complimentary bottle of red wine. Great view of the mountains and glaciers Built in speakers in the ceiling with possibility to connect your iPhone/iPad Clean, fresh and nice design on the room Friendly and service minded staff Coffee machine on the room
Review 47:TBH the balcony could do with a coat of paint but otherwise nothing at all!
Review 48:Very friendly, helpful staff we felt quite at home here. The room was excellent, comfy bed, modern decor, ipad, British TV [no one seems to mention this but very handy in poor weather and at the end of a long day's walking]. Breakfast was ample with plenty of choices. Hot tea available free all day long and a coffee machine in the room. Great big towels and a heated towel rail to dry them on. This may be an odd one but the bed was changed every few days - I like this! All in all excellent - ok so no pool etc but plenty of other pluses. Hope to go back next year.
Review 49:Excellent staff, Comfort, best bed in the Alps, Clean, fast WiFi included, Good shower, Big TV, Coffee Machine in room, Fantastic Rain Shower, Lovely Restaurant, Good Breakfast, Best location in the village, great price/quality balance. Highly recommend.
Review 50:Staff very aloof Lack of information Square cereal bowls Pointed knives Cleaner entered our room 3 times during our stay
Review 51:Good location Comfortable room Good breakfast
Review 52:No room service after 21:30 in the evening. No spa facilities. Food we ordered from the restaurant was not great, burger and tartar.

Review 58:Great location in the middle of Saas Fee. Nice friendly staff. Great breakfast
Review 59:Great location and the room had everything we needed and more! Highly recommended
Review 60:Staff not proactive in describing facilities in Saas Fee, such as tourist pass for cable car etc.

Review 69:The staff were very helpful and very comfortable rooms.
Review 70:Reception closes at 10 pm, breakfast lacks variety, tiny duvet to sleep in

Review 87:- Problems with the electronic key - Lack of wellness area - TV not working
Review 88:- Bathroom - Service, staff - Bus lifts - Ski lockers - Restaurant
Review 89:Location, staff, restaurant, breakfast buffet, rooms were comfortable, wifi. Really good place to enjoy Saas Fee.
Review 90:Location, Staff, Breakfast and Service
Review 91:The bathtub in the room! And the staff was extremely friendly and helpful... it was a perfect place to celebrate my girlfriend's 30th birthday
Review 92:everything was perfect ... they deserve one more star ... :) 4stars is not enought for Dom Hotel
Review 93:sass fee is lovely , the dom hotel is super high qualety hotel. Perfect place to stay, the staff, the room, the breakfast......
Review 94:We like it everything. I strongly recommend it. Very charming room
Review 95:The staff was extremely friendly. The rooms just "out of this world" in terms of decor.
Review 96:Poor bedside lighting. Stronger light + space for bathroom stuff + magnifying mirror by main washbasin.
Review 97:Room confort, view from room, furniture, modern, friendly, relaxing!
Review 98:Great stay at the Dom Hotel, very helpful staff and the accomodations were exceptional.
Review 99:the staff forgot to warn us that the saas fee card is only if you stay more than one night.
Review 100:the hotel was very nice and the staff was welcoming. breakffast was good and included alot of fruit.we were allowed to stay in the breakfast room after check out and were offered warm drinks all day. the room was very nice and had a good veiw
Review 101:Room was too cold, no ways to turn on heaters. Electronic control through ipad didnt work correctly. Staff was also not knowledgeable and thus not able to help in this. Church bell was very very very very disturbing, rings ever 15-30 minutes in the morning. "Mineral water" given in the room was ordinary tap water which tasted very old.
Review 102:Omelette in the breakfast was quite good. Cleanliness in the room was below average. Finger prints everywhere on the mirror and coffee cups had coffee stains. Bed was very comfortable though.
Review 103:spa/swimming pool missing, standard room is very nice but not very spacey
Review 104:great breakfast, great service personal and free shuttle, very nice design of the whole hotel
Review 105:the common areas are quite empty. They should arrange the main floor, even the other ones in order for people to find an easy and cause way to read, surf in little corners - Installing plants, paintings and certainly seats and sofas.
Review 106:A very nice room, and place. Very beautifully designed. We had a open room on the mountains with a fully exposed sun shined terrace. People in the hotel are very friendly and helpful. nice breakfast buffet and the restaurant, when opened is a MUST in tow!
Review 107:Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location not too far from the Alpine Glacier Express and in the centre of the village. We loved the room decoration with the wood and the slates in the shower
Review 108:We were extremely impressed by your worm welcome and friendly staff. You were very understanding towards us to make use of your oven for heating our own food for the day we were there and for when we left. Your room were abseloutly beautifull, mordern and comfortable.
Review 109:The service at the bar area: when I was leaving the bar area I realised that the access points to the living part were locked (due to late hours). When I asked the bartender whether there was any way inside the hotel she responded with a laconic "no" and continued chatting with some other clients. One of the guests at the bar was kind enough to show me how to enter the living area (via the keycard).
Review 110:Got picked up from the local bus terminal with my things (at 11 pm) followed by a pleasantly warm welcome at the reception with a glass of wine; fantastic interior in the room and hotel in general; great facilities in room: Apple Airplay allowing to play music from my iPhone, large TV, iPad (just as promised); the little things: an infinite supply of apples at the entrance to the building, espresso machine in the room, assistance with the local town passes (for discounts on slope passes and select restaurants throughout the town), information booklets and maps; the best burgers I had - ever - made in the hotel restaurant
Review 111:It would be nice to be offered a takeaway bag for guests who need to depart before breakfast is served in the dining room (or make this service available).
Review 112:Central location and within easy access to all of the ski lifts. Nicely designed and comfortable rooms and common areas, friendly staff, great breakfast buffet and one of Saas-Fee's best restaurants.
Review 113:Doesn't have much of a common lounge area (but does have a beautiful breakfast room and restaurant).
Review 114:Beautiful, comfortable hotel with many modern conveniences but also a warm feeling. Very Highly recommended.
Review 115:Friday night is probably last night for many tourists in Saas Fee, few "very happy" people a bit too noisy in the main road woke us up but this doesn't depend on hotel of course! Kind of nice to wake up at the sound of church bell at 7!
Review 116:The staff was extremely kind, from the driver to the reception and the restaurant waiter. The driver drove me and my friends to the slopes both on Friday afternoon and on Saturday morning...it was so easy! After walking around the village on Friday night looking for a free table in a restaurant we called the hotel and we could have a great dinner there 20 min.later! Ski room comfortable and with well heated lockers. Free welcome drink at the bar...Excellent breakfast, with sweet and savoury food.
Review 117:The staff could be more caring. No kettle in the room, disappointing for 4*. Be ready to be wake up at 8 am by the church bell
Review 118:The design of the room. Great bar and cool smoking lounge.
Review 119:No negatives for us
Review 120:Nice staff, greeted us with a refreshment upon arrival. Beautiful room & view. Excellent breakfast & restaurant. Located near the center of Saas Fee.
