Reviews for Serenity Coast All Suite Resort Sanya
Review 1:Deposit when arrive at hotel, I think it's China specific
Review 2:Hotel staff did a great job. Service was excellent - cleaning, breakfast etc. Hotel staff helped to visit interesting place in sanya. I really feel that hotel team did they best to make my perfect vacation
Review 3:Be sure to contact the hotel 1 day prior to your arrival and confirm ifthere's water in the facilities, unfortunately there wasn'tduring our stay :s and since we weren't notified in advance wehaven't got the chance to change hotel.
Review 4:Location is good, xiaodonghai bay, 5min walking to the beach, 15 min tothe city by cab.
Review 5:Need to use transport for everything. To return from beach to hotel is not easy due to need to call the hotel and as not all the staff speaks english it is dificcult and without a local number we need to use roaming all the time. Should be considered to have a driver there al the time or a better way to call
Review 6:Beach facilities that can be used at intercontinental hotel, but is expensive.
Review 7:Building is in a terrible state of repair. Air conditioning was faulty and not even put on when we got to the room. Door entry batteries needed replacing. Blocked drain in bathroom. Unclean windows and poor decorative order. Nails sticking out of wooden floor at swimming pool. Peeling paintwork and varnish throughout. Door to bathroom would not close and scratched across floor. Kitchen had no utensils plates, pots pans or anything. Lift had floor coming up, walls falling apart and needed urgent attention.
Review 8:The staff where friendly and trying their hardest under the circumstances.
Review 9:The environment in the room is not very comfortable... And the it is not that valuable.
Review 10:The hotel can compromise to check out the room and return the rent in advance. It has a nice attiude to deal with problems positivly.
Review 11:The restaurant is bad it's like Chinese restaurant instead of international food and the elevator is crowded at the morning the workers do not speak English and for the room service the menu is Chinese no English menu overall the hotel is not for foreigners
Review 12:The location is not bad because it's near the sea , the price is also not bad , the room is good
Review 13:There is only one bathroom in a 3-room apartment! While my kids loved the big bath tub in the master bedroom (weather too cold to go swimming outside) which came with an open toilet concept (i.e. no doors adjourning to the bedroom), I find it tedious to draw the curtains if you need to do your private things, and the odd shape bath tub with sharp corners and rocks around is slippery. Hotel can consider including another shopping mall in their shuttle service.
Review 14:Thanks to Ms Wu Chen Ming who suggested to us to upgrade to a 3-room apartment, which we did, we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at the hotel. We stayed at the 23rd floor with a great view. A nice gesture of the hotel to give my two kids a set of beach toys each. Staff were great and kept the apartment during our 4 nights stay there clean and tidy. A functional apartment with cooking facilities, washing machine and working WIFI! Hotel offers hourly shuttle service Luhuitoushan and Summer Mall. The buggy ride to the private beach is much appreciated!
Review 15:- kid's garden facility for small children, that was excellent for our 10 month old daughter who likes to crawl around - pool was not crowded and could be used for excercising - free and quick transportation to the ocean beach at the Intercontinental hotel
Review 16:.....but if you want those extra little touches (again a "Westerners Perspective") such as a room service Club Sandwich as the menu says you can have, or the Pool Bar to be in action and serving drinks, etc....then think again. Other than that, actually pretty world class! 6-7 out of 10 (well they do share the private beach with the Inter-Continental next door)
Review 17:"Westerners Perspective"....Has everything you need and is really good, no actually great for the price. It's clean, modern and has most of what a "Resort" should have. The staff are mostly great, with a smile. Also, travelling with a 2 year old the kids room was a god sent. Also really hard to find a hotel/resort in Hainan with a designated family room, kitchen etc all enclusive. Overall thumbs up!
Review 18:The beach and seawater contained a lot of rubbish. The hotel staff was not english speaking and in addition only little heldful. Especially at the hotel restaurant we had a feeling of not being welcome. Kitchen utensils were only given by request and contained only one frying pan and a knife.
Review 19:The appartement was big and we had a nice view to the sea.
Review 20:The Beach had stones...suitable only for swimming...not playing in a water. Far from city center
Review 21:Local draft beer was good Room was good and clean
Review 22:Staff, location,value
Review 23:Nil
Review 24:Friendly Staff
Review 25:trafic to city difficul
Review 26:good appartement
Review 27:need to walk to the swimming pool. The shuttle bus cannot go to city centre. The shuttle bus is too few seat.
Review 28:The beach is great and beautiful.
Review 29:location is not that convenient. Breakfast can be improved.
Review 30:very high cost performance. Sea view is nice. Good service.
Review 31:Far from the city. At times hard to get a taxi or schuttle bus.
Review 32:quiet location. Very clean. Great choice for breakfast.
Review 33:Appartments were huge and well equipped Staff were excellent Beach was quite and amazing Price was excellent
Review 34:Small bed
Review 35:Kindergarten
Review 36:The worst part of the Hotel is its transportation connection. Due to the location, it's very hard to wait for a taxi at the hotel lobby. But even worse is that the hotel staff is reluctant to call the taxi for you, and you may walk outside by yourself and wait for a taxi at the road conjunction. Also, the breakfast of the hotel is awful without any further choices. Last but not least, the bathroom is small and water power is very weak!
Review 37:For a family, the Hotel is not bad, with comprehensive kitchen facility in the hotel room as well as laundry. Also, the swimming pool is great for the kids to play. Indeed, the price of the hotel is reasonable, comparably to other 5 stars hotel.
Review 38:almost impossible to arrange tours etc through English shared beach nice to look at but the amount of plastic washed ashore every morning was disgusting and made swimming impossible town of Sanya, dirty very built up Dadongai Beach area good buzz but quite a lot of rats on the street beside restaurants in the evening!
Review 39:AC rooms good size cheap taxis staff were lovely but very little English
Review 40:Busy and overcrowded at breakfast. No Bar. Occasional smell of drains.
Review 41:Spacious and comfortable and well equipped family room. Great location, nice pool and access to private beach. Good range of food at Breakfast. Wi-fi. Basic but good distraction of games room. Shuttle bus.
Review 42:Taking into account this is China and over Chinese National Holiday p;eriod at the beginning of October, 99.5% of the guests were Chinese. So I am not going to comment about other guests. But what was shocking was that practically none of the concierge staff spoke an iota of English, not even in the slightest and so any question posted to the Concierge staff went unanswered.Breakdast is not even slightly Westernm and the three Western things possible were actually 'impossible' - bread for toast was not fresh at all, coffee from an urn was commercial-factory-level and cold and finally, to get a fried Egg from the Egg chefs that was not broken or completely uncooked, was an impossibility because they spoke zero English and had never cooked a fried Egg the Western way in their lives. The restaurant and coffee shop served Asian food but it was poor quality food again. The golf-buggy style shuttle drivers that take you to the beach (which was a fair hike away) spoke zero English and they would favour picking-up Chinese people over the few Western people any time. The Intercontinental Hotel was next door and use of their pool/facilities was no problem at all and their pool and facilities are excellent and most of their staff speak a good level of English. Food at the Mediterraneo Lunch Buffet in the Intercontinental is recommended but all their other outlets are costly. Finally, the area around the Serenity beach has absolutely zero to do unless you want to swim in a sea full of rocks or swim at the Intercontinental's pool. There is nothing whatsoever for children to do, all eating establishments are over-priced (1 coke and 2 iced lemon teas cost 256 RMB at the Intercontinental poolside) and the simple lack of desire to communicate by the hotel staff make this a poor selection for non-Mandarin-speaking tourists/guests.
Review 43:The Hotel Room, double bedroom, was very well appointed, spacious and had great views. Needed knives/forks and spoons for Western eating (only had chopsticks) but other than that, very well-sized rooms. Gym is adequate for exercise, pool is okay (although across a road) and in General, the hotel was fine (but definitely a lower-4-star and not a 5-star or even close).
Review 44:Breakfast is not delicious and varied. There are not enough space in the restaurant, so we always had problems with finding free tables.
Review 45:Hotel have a big nice area with swiming pools, reataurants, bars. There is a private beach at one side and mountains at another side. It's very close (10 minutes) by taxi to Dadonghai. Rooms itself are big a quite good.
Review 46:Difficult if you don't know how to speak Chinese. Lack of English speaking staff, not even those working in the front desk or business centre know English. Crowdy breakfast area, little choice for non-Chinese residents. Restaurant more like a canteen, with not very service-oriented staff. No or few organized activities, like excursions to nearby attractions. Massage options turned out to be a joke.
Review 47:The apartment, its size, master bedroom with a bathtub, balcony with great views. Your own washing machine for free use. Clean. Golf buggy transport to the beach.
Review 48:The environment is surrounded with nice scenery especial the sea view Fromm room. The staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast is nice and have many choices. The room is clean and very comfortable.
Review 49:The breakfast which was included in the rate was not good, they did not cater for westerners only forChinese, the food that should have been hot was not, there were no hot plates to keep the food warm, would not have tried lunch or dinner based on the breakfast Don't quite understand why you would have to pay 300rmb to use the pool at the intercontinental when you have spent over and above that for lunch and dinner at their restaurants, surely that should get you a free pass I would not recommend based on the food served at breakfast
Review 50:The location was good, the staff were helpful The room was as described and very comfortable, clean, the balcony was great and the view from the balcony was perfect. The restaurants at the intercontinental were excellent The private beach was part of intercontinental. I would recommend based on location, use if intercontinental restaurants and beach area and overall cleanliness and comfort of the room
Review 51:Breakfast area small, crowded. Front counter staff need to learn tospeak and understand English. I have never taken so long to check inand check out. They required deposit after deposit and it appeared thatthe staff were not familiar with credit cards from other countries. Ihave never had to put a deposit greater than the total room charge. Thelocation is beautiful but remote, so you are dependent on thehotel's concierge to arrange private car transport and theconcierge is trying to make money out of this arrangement. We had topay 500 rmb for car rental for 8 hours - to just 2 locations. Dinnercharge was separate.
Review 52:The hotel was clean and spacious.
Review 53:The hotel car driver always charged more than what was agreed upfront.
Review 54:Nice swimming pool and friendly staff.
Review 55:15% service fee is quite expensive.
Review 56:Hotel is very expensive
Review 57:Everything
Review 58:Everything ok. Large apartment with modern furniture. Great view.
Review 59:The breakfast buffet is rather Chinese oriented, and less suited forWestern taste.
Review 60:Nice restaurant, bar and other facilities at the beach.
Review 61:Pool
Review 62:Private beach, suite room and burger deal.
Review 63:Food is kind of expensive.
Review 64:Quick checkout. Staff are nice.
Review 65:enviroment
Review 66:The price for hotel cars ( taxi)
Review 67:It was very peaceful
Review 68:Not enough facilities. Poor management. Long checkout wait.
Review 69:Nice suite! Complimentary upgrade.
Review 70:No room service breakfast and food really bad
Review 71:The room was Good
