Reviews for Hotel Marmotte
Review 1:nothing
Review 2:We arrived early and were able to check-in at 8.30 in the morning with no problem and got a free coffee on arrival. Very friendly people. They gave us and a few other guests a ride to the ski lift and access to their locker at the ski lifts to leave our skis and boots overnight, in order to go straight into the apres ski.
Review 3:The owner of this hotel is super nice and very helpful. This small hotel absolutely has what-so-called "small town charming". I had a very nice stay in this hotel.
Review 4:everything was good - and there was literally nothing i didn't like
Review 5:The owner (and chef) was extremely friendly. At the restaurant, he tends to each table, and makes everyone feel welcome. He offered me a ride to the ski lift and rental place. I found the rest of the staff similarly friendly, and would definitely book this place again in any future visit!!!
Review 6:The atmosphere and service was excellent. Fantastic environment in and around the hotel. The staff was service minded and helpful to ensure the best experience.
Review 7:The rooms in the hotel were spacious clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly & nice. Special thanks to Martin. I had dinner & breakfast, very delicious!
Review 8:I would highly recommend this hotel. The owners and staff were very friendly providing wonderful service. The breakfasts and à la carte menu in the restaurant were fabulous. (The restaurant is very popular!) Our room was spacious and comfortable with a nice balcony. We would stay there again.
Review 9:Like some other guests, I cannot find any fault. Really feeling like visiting friend rather than a guest. Any unexpected can happen, to ensure a pleasant stay outside your own country, don't hesitate to book this hotel.
Review 10:This hotel changed our bad traveling day to a nice pleasant stay. We went there by Glacier Express, but on the way we headed to, there was accident on the rail way(kind of machine blocked on it). The Glacier Express staff told us we needed to go back another way and changed train at Chur and Zurich. Finally, by helped of Glacier Express staff arranging the train and called to hotel to inform time we will reach there and cancelled our booked dinner at the hotel. We reached Saas Fee bus terminal after 21:00!. 4 hours late from the time we made appointment through Booking.com. My daughters got carsick but my husband got worse from bad bus driving (very fast on several curves in the dark from Visp to Saas-Fee. didn't expect this in Switzerland!), he vomited and couldn't walk by himself. Martin was very calm after waiting for us outside bus terminal(it was snowing) and waited until my husband could move and helped him to walk to hotel's electric van and to our bed in the hotel. He told me to call him any time to his mobile phone in case of emergency. I found that the hotel upgraded our room from double room with extra bed and balcony to be the family room with balcony( 3 bedrooms and long balcony that all 3 rooms can open and sit outside) without more charged. Two big chocolate bars for my daughters were prepared in the room and made them smiled sweetly in spite of feeling carsickness!!. We had dinner on the second night. Beautiful arrangement, very delicious, big portion (seemed too big for Asian like us) with good price.
Review 11:The pillows were extremely flat.
Review 12:The hospitality and flexibility of Annette and Martin was excellent. Extremely service minded, which is rare in Switzerland. The food in the restaurant was great, especially the chocolate soufflé. Very proactive approach of the staff, to ensure the stay was pleasant.
Review 13:The staff were excellent, so welcoming and friendly, they really made us feel at home. The food was amazing, we enjoyed an excellent New Years Eve meal. We both loved the spa area, very clean and well maintained.
Review 14:Sadly couldn't eat in the hotel in the evening. Food looked great, but restaurant fully booked. Would have been good to know that we needed to book early in our stay.
Review 15:Hotel Marmotte exceeded our expectations of comfort, cleanliness and breakfast. But what really made it special were Anett and Martin. They were incredibly helpful and always happy to take us to and from ski lifts and car park in their electric taxi. As another reviewer has said, more like we were visiting friends rather than paying customers.
Review 16:The room has all you need, but the decoration is not too charm.
Review 17:Breakfast and dinner fantastic. Full availability of the staff driving us to the slops and to the parking when needed. Great location close to the main street, but quiet at the same time.
Review 18:Water pressure in the shower was a little weak
Review 19:We were given a really warm welcome and made to feel at home throughout. The food is truly excellent, no need to go elsewhere!
Review 20:The spa area wasn't in top notch condition, we didn't dare to use the steam sauna, but the finnish sauna was surprisingly good. In general the spa area should receive some service for the taps and sinks even though they were usable. The 2 jacuzzis were first out of order, but suddenly started to work, probably they aren't used that often?
Review 21:The owners and staff were really nice and helpful. The food and breakfast in the restaurant were also good. Althought the interior was kind of old fashioned, it suited the hotel well.
Review 22:The staff and ambience of this hotel was excellent. The breakfast was great, best scrambled eggs I have ever had. I would very much recommend this hotel.
Review 23:Not the fault of the hotel, but Saas Fee as a whole seemed a little inconsiderate of its guests. We arrived in the evening of Friday, 31st October - Nobody inforrmed us that the season finishes super punctually on this day. November 1st was also an official holiday, so almost all the shops were closed, including the pharmacy and the tourist office (!!!), and only one mountain lift was running, despite the beautiful weekend weather and the large number of tourists. The much vaunted "Burgerpass" also no longer applied for the lifts, so you had to pay. I think Saas Fee lost a number of future tourists this weekend!! Surely they could have extended the offers for that last weekend. Beware: Saas Fee remains closed until mid December, so don't expect to fins mayn lifts runninhg, and most of the restaurants are closed
Review 24:We were made very welcome at this hotel, and the food is excellent and imaginative. Very friendly staff, and all rooms renovated to a good standard in 2014. They have a small wellness area, which we saw but, unfortunately, didn't have time to use! Very convenient for the car park area and for the ski lifts. Beautiful scenery and magnificent weather Felt really at home here and would happily go again.
Review 25:The family room is perfekt, we had privacy, as well we had great time together on the balcony. It was close to shops, restaurants and going up the mountains. Great deal, if you stay 2 nights you can use most cable cars and buses for free. Add 10 Fr.- and you can use all, and get discount for parking and other activities. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was yummy. We loved to go back there anytime.
Review 26:There is nothing negative to say about this hotel, highly recommend you book and stay here.
Review 27:A very friendly welcome made by Anett and Martin in a great location. All the rooms have been refurbished to the highest standard and are very comfortable. The breakfast and evening meal were excellent, large portions and very good value. I honestly cannot fault this hotel, Anett and Martin made you feel you were a friend rather than a paying guest and could not do enough for you, 10/10 :0)
