Reviews for Evergreen Lodge

Review 1:A shame everything shut up shop so early. Once dinner ended (meals are set times and last for only an hour) at 8 there wasn't anything to do other than go to bed. Whilst it was nice to have early nights 8pm is a little early!

Review 2:You almost didn't need to leave the hotel grounds - we saw everything and more. The monkey's flying over our hut to the beautiful birds constantly flying from one tree to another. We also saw a snake and frogs. The guide we had for our 2 day / 3 night package was very nice and great that everything was included.

Review 3:I wasn't happy with the guide. I felt like he didn't know what he was doing and even cheated us a few times. He told us that the cost of entering the national park was $15 when on the website it said $10. In addition to this, he told us that he couldn't give us any change so we ended up forking out $20 each for the rain forest tour. When we also got on the boat to head back home we noticed our bags weren't on the boat. After the guide insisting that they had collected all the bags and us telling them it wasn't on there, they ended up finding them at our room where they asked us to leave them. The guided walk through the rainforest felt lack-lustre and not entertaining at all. There was also no clear itinerary of where we were meeting or what was happening next. The communication from the hotel staff was abysmal. They had no idea either when asking and the only person we could ask was our guide who couldn't be found most of the time. Rather disappointing as this was the most expensive part of our trip to Costa Rica and the most disappointing.

Review 4:I loved the location of the hotel.

Review 5:They didn't pick us,no information how to arrive,we paid for boat to be there, Dark,no activity in the nights, the food was badly, too expensive

Review 6:Inside the park,animals,guided.

Review 7:Transportation to and from San Jose is scheduled for 7 hour each way. Our pick up at our hotel was at 550 am and we arrived at th lodge just after 1 pm. There were 52 people on our bus, no leg room on the bus for anyone, and all of the activites are en masse. We had a group of five and could not always sit together on tours (1 person had to go by themselves)

Review 8:Location, staff were excellent. Lodge is in the middle of the tropical forest with lots of great wildlife. Tour of the national park was a hghlight.

Review 9:Very expensive trip for traveling with Kids. Hotel is fair, not 4+ as we expected. We paid more than 800$ for 2.5 days including very basic meals and transportation.

Review 10:Everything is really green. Great organization and coordination, always on time. No mistakes.

Review 18:Henri was a very good guide! It was a perfect place to relax. The food was good, a Nice atmosphere.

Review 19:Staff was unfriendly and very unprofessional. Price was outrages incomparison for the room that you get. Check-out time is 9.00 A.M. Foodwas buffet style and as bad as nowhere else in Costa Rica. Good advisefor everyone: don't go there!

Review 20:Complimentary guided boat trip through the np early in the morning wasexcellent.
