Review 1：We are very disappointed with our stay at the Medhufushi Resort.- we had the all inclusive package an so 2 free activities but when I tryed to book the activities always they were full.- we tried then to do other kind of watersports but seems as its low season because in several occasions we tried to go to the watersports centre and it was always closed. When having asked for this reason in the reception they've told us that the motors are under repair so we cant ski or do other watersports.This is not normal for a 5* resort to sell activities that then are imposible to do.- after those dissapointments we tried the last possibility diving, but the diving centre has prices 3 times international stardarts (Im a dive master with more than 600 dives, so I know what I'm talking about). We are being forced to go to other resorts in the area that charge more decent prices I believe this is not normal!We wrote this letter the first day to the Manager and we were confirmed by his assistant that we where going to get a response, we never did.The staff is undergrad students, with a bad english, bad trained and not prepared to resolve problems.After 2 days there I got food poisoned and stayed for other two days in bed. There is not even a doctor in the resort, thogh there is a door with a "Clinic" and "doctor hours" in the entrance.In the Booking page of this resort its said that it accepts American Express. I used that for the reservation. I was in the middle of my honeymoon and they wrote me several times to tell me that my booking was going to be cancelled if I dont resolve the problem with my card. The only problem that my card had was that they dont accept Amex! instead of saying so I spent a lot of time and money making international calls from different locations with 9h diference to my bank and Amex.

Review 3：The sea plane that you must ride in order to get to the isalnd, is terrible(small, hot, extremely uncomfortable), a considerable time is lost waiting for your fight to the island Sea weeds were covering most of the sea shore in a way making it almost impossible to have a decent time swimming, fortunately enough some parts were still okay (owing mainly to the enormous efforts the staff are doing to clean it up) the diving center was way expensive and the boat used for the excursions was not up to standards. Boooking.com should mention that there are seasons where sea weeds will overwhelm the island. such piece of information would proove important in deciding which type of villa you are looking for. I have been using Booking .com for all my reservations and this time it felt like being deceived. However as I said before the manger sorted it out and moved me to a location where sea weeds were much much less.

Review 4：I had a problem with my accomodation and the manager Mr. Hussain sorted it out immediately (a truely understanding and sincere person), the staff are extremely nice and polite, the island is fantastic with lots of greenery and marine life. The sea was heavenly (when it was free of sea weeds) Definitely will go back

Review 10：Beauty of the Island, we had a stretch of beach to ourselves. The beach villa led straight onto the beach. As we woke up to the sun in the morning, it was shaded well which meant the kids could play outside from afternoon to late evening.

Review 11：We had to pay for our wifi connection - $5 for just one hour. We could only use it in the public areas and the connection was not good.

Review 12：Everyone was so friendly. Our room boy Shaif was excellent. The buffets were also excellent. The water bungalow was spacious - with a terrace the same size as the bedroom, containing 2 sunloungers, two good chairs, a table and a swing seat for two and that furniture only occupied a little more than half of the terrace! Shaif made the most beautiful designs with flowers on the bed. The buffet food was very very good.

Review 14：We have been to several resorts in the Maldives. Medhufushi is the resort that we find gives us the best value pr. dollar. Very nice dive center run by Europeans. The Beach Villas are comfortable and well place around the Island. Staff is superb and very friendly. Restaurant staff and pool staff are primarily from Maldives and Bangladesh. Some may struggle a bit with english, but a smile always solves things. We had half-board, it works very well. If you want to get 10% better resort you pay 30% more and so on. We have been to Medhufushi twice. Great place!!

Review 15：The only disappointment was villa's condition which was not corresponding at all to described on website and has nothing in common with the term "5 stars luxury".

Review 16：Island and the nature around, wonderful underwater world, which can be explored right from your water villa. Snorkelling is 10 of 10. Beach looks like on the PC wallpapers, photos taken look absolutely fantastic and do not need any filtering or adjusting:) You will never see anything alike anythere else. Sunsets could be seen from our villa every day, totally awesome. Isolated and quiet relax provided at water villas is the big plus too. Food selection and quantities at the very good level, except of fruits. Personnel especually at reception and guest relation service are very nice and helpful.

Review 17：internet connection is very poor and extremely over priced. But coming to a place like this you don't want to be able to connect to the outside world. the water sports centre is very overpriced. for a 30 minute jet ski and 20minute banana boat ride it cost USD140 for 2 of us (sharing one jet ski). Yes it was fun, but the price should be half that.

Review 19：The seaplane schedule arrangement (which i think can't be controlled by the hotel), we arrived seaplane terminal before lunch time, but they need to wait for full plane to take off, Medhufushi is a bit far from Male, we waited for 4 hours in the seaplane terminal. There was this particular staff who carried one hand carry luggage to our room, refused to leave the room, until we gave him USD1 (and he actually felt unhappy with the amount). The buffet (don't expect too high, the variety is vast, but the taste is so-so). The free snorkelling trip (the wave was too strong). The dining hall : it's too warm to have lunch and it's too dim to have dinner. The solar heater system is not sufficient in supplying hot water if you intend to shower more than 2 times a day.

Review 20：The overall environment of the island, very pleasant and calming. The water villa ambient is very relaxing. The swing at both beach villa & water villa. The crystal clear water around water villa. The dolphin excursion (awesome). The staff are generally very friendly.

They try to take care about it, and clean 3 times a day, but it doesn't help - Food - it's food court. 5 stars? I had to stay in the queue! Ask additional portion of the fruit... Not accepted. Lucky we that my husband went 3 times for fishing. These days they cooked for us these fishes. And no need to stay in the queue at least for second dish. -towels - not fresh at all -AC - so noisy It's absolutely not 5 stars hotel!

The view from the villa is awesome! Sunset side can be seen as a plus. The food at the main resto is terrific! Half board is sufficient. Clean beaches and turquoise waters... Friendly and helpful staff. In brief, we recommend!

The staff always had theanswers, E.G. what happens when sea-plane transfers are delayed byrain; they also helped us to connect with our airline so we could geta transit visa on our return via Dubai (in the process giving us freerun of their office equipment even though the issue had nothing to dowith them).We had a water villa on the sunset side, awesome view, clean and attended to every morning and evening. (Didn't come across mosquitoes at all in the villa, only on land, even then not many). Restaurant food variety was great, there's a European section and an Asian section, both with wonderfully cooked dishes. Enjoyed the bar every evening, one of my best ever places to enjoy a drink: a huge wooden bar set out on the water on stilts (we saw a small ray swim under us in those shallow waters whilst we were downing a beer and playing darts) Wonderful place and staff, will always carry that memory. -------------------- (btw Booking.com staff should also get a mention as they were able to ensure our 8 nights were all in the same water villa rather than 1 one of the nights being in a beach villa as per the original booking (no availability at the time). They talked directly to the resort closer to the time of departure, and pushed for us to receive any freeing up of rooms - which eventually happened. Thanks guys!)

You will be given a boarding pass and van transfer to the Maldivian Air Taxi Terminal, where the floatplane departs from.Seaplanes and most speedboats operate during daylight hours only. They do not operate between 18:00 - 06:00.Guests arriving before 15:30 will be transferred to the resort on the same day.Guests arriving in Malé on an international flight after 15:30 will need to find their own overnight accommodation in Malé. They will be transferred to the island the following day.Guests departing Malé on an international flight earlier than 09:30 may need to check-out 1 day before the date of departure and stay overnight in Malé to reach the airport on time.Children (2-11 years old) enjoy a 50% discount.
