Reviews for Sportchalet Mürren

Review 1:It was all great

Review 2:Great value, location and food. The people who run it were great and gave us hiking advice, told us stories about the area and were genuinely good people.

Review 3:Wifi was very weak in the room. The room was very basic for the cost - compared to another hotel we stayed at in Murren.

Review 4:Adequate hotel. Breakfast was good. Located in central Murren (a bit of a walk from the train station with luggage).

Review 5:A bit noisy in the night

Review 6:The most friendly staff! So nice and helpfull. Extremely kids friendly - staff joked with our kids, treat them to some swiss chocolate and gave them an activity set. The place also offers great food - we also had excellent dinners there. The room was spotless and looked much better than the pictures. And most important - stunning views strait from our window!

Review 7:Wifi only in lobby and not very strong. Bedrooms a bit sparse. Could use I room tea pot or coffee/tea in lobby.

Review 8:Very nice area. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.

Review 9:The location is superb. The village is the perfect starting point for hikes. The accommodation is good value for money... simple, clean and a good breakfast.

Review 10:Actually there's nothing to complain. However, It will be better if the wifi signal can cover all the rooms.

Review 11:The location is perfect, there are great view of snow mountatin outside of the window. The staffs are warm, friendly and helpful, we had accidently lost the key of our room, they gave us many advices and tried to help us finding the key. The hotel also offered us two free swimming tickets. The swimming pool is quite nice, so don't forget to bring the swimming pants when you come.

Review 12:Wifi is non-existent even though they claim to have it. The staff is a bit standoff-ish (might be the Swiss culture though), and they leave/close-up super early and don't open early, so we weren't able to properly check out when leaving at 7am because no one was there.

Review 13:Amazing view from our room and plenty of sitting/common areas to view the surroundings. Liked that we could get a 4-person room, even though it was two twins and a bunk bed. More hostel/dormy.

Review 14:Curtains on the shared showers on third floor were too and water went everywhere. Third floor was a long walk up for the grandmothers. Wi-fi was only strong in the lobby. If you are only in for a couple of days the costs of trains can really add up!

Review 15:We had the 5 bed family room with an extra bed brought in, beds were very comfortable and room was large. It was nice to have extra bathrooms in the hall. View was outstanding! They set up a really nice breakfast buffet each morning.

Review 16:We took d standard room with a private bathroom but d room was a tad bit smaller than what we expected even though d bathroom was quite big!

Review 17:Excellent staff, always eager to help ~even going out of d way to help! Good breakfast - d owner/manager himself would drop in at d restaurant and ask everyone warmly for a cup of coffee! Loved d breakfast spread as well! Amazing views from d restaurant as well as d room! Spotlessly clean bathroom! All in all ~a wonderful, warm n comfortable place to stay in d heavenly mountain village of Mürren!

Review 18:The time for breakfast was a little bit late (7:30).

Review 19:Everybody working at the hotel was so kind and helpful. The view from the room balcony was splendid, we could see three mountains, eiger, mönch, jungfrau very closely.

Review 20:My husband is over 6ft and found the bed too short-just a heads up for tall travellers.

Review 21:Beautiful views. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Great location. The room and bathroom facilities were clean and comfortable.

Review 22:Had two single beds instead of a double bed. Note that there are two cable car stations in Murren and this place is right in the middle of these stations (particularly close to neither one but easily walkable), if it matters to you. No wifi in rooms - it was only in the lobby and very poor.

Review 23:It was just cool to stay in a car-free village and this place was the most affordable one. Very nice view of the surrounding areas.

Review 24:Wifi can only be accessed at the lobby

Review 25:Stunning view outside my balcony with a beautiful view of the Swiss Alps. Staff was friendly and helpful, she even gave us an extra jug of hot water as one of us wasn't feeling well on one of the days. Great facilities with tennis courts, football field, tv lounge, sauna etc.

Review 26:WiFi only works in the ground floor near within a small area.

Review 27:We really enjoyed the room as it's facing the mountain. Clean room and clean toilet/shower room. Nice location between the cable station and the railway station. I thought it would be hard to get to other places, but the transport connection is perfect in the Interlaken area. You won't waste too much time if you choose to stay up in the mountain. I would recommend those who stay in Interlaken for over 3 nights to stay in Murren than Interlaken as the view is much better, and it's also more quiet.

Review 28:Mostly all good. Rug looked pretty worn in our room, probably due to be changed but this was not a problem

Review 29:right in town, clean rooms, excellent breakfast, comfortable mattresses, nice view out the window. Sport faciltites include tennis courts for a fee plus table tennis

Review 30:The mattresses were very uncomfortable and felt worn and tired as did I after trying to sleep on mine for three nights.

Review 31:the view from our room was wonderful.

Review 32:This small town is really a nice place.

Review 33:Great welcome. Wonderful meal in dining room.

Review 34:General manager was OK, but quite business like. Poor WiFi reception in rooms.

Review 35:Majestic view! Great ladies staff!

Review 36:Amazing views!!! Great staff, very friendly, always smiled and asked us about our day and if they can help. Thank you!

Review 37:Hotel is very nice.

Review 38:wifi wasnt very strong, shared bathroom (but they were always very clean)

Review 39:AMAZING views, comfortable bed

Review 40:attitude of the staff

Review 41:snow mountain view, location

Review 42:no wifi and TV

Review 43:clean,good view ,good breakfast

Review 44:This was more of a hostel than a hotel. It had very small rooms and very basic shower facilities, Very expensive!

Review 45:Fantastic view, charming village

Review 46:Very affordable but also very fun place to stay, with the possibility of playing tennis right in the alps!

Review 47:Beautiful location and view. Very clean. Excellent breakfast. We loved it!

Review 48:Bed, pillow

Review 49:Location

Review 50:The view

Review 51:Noisy as there are too many atheletes in the hotel

Review 52:Wifi only worked in a small spot downstairs (not even in the common room) Tiny beds

Review 53:Very warm Clean bathrooms Good breakfast

Review 54:The room was too small and the bed wasn't much comfortable.

Review 55:The view from the room and the balcony. Good breakfast.

Review 56:If you have to visit Murren , the hotel is really nice , you can see the fabulous mountain through the window.

Review 57:No wifi in the rooms. Very poor wifi signal near the buro

Review 58:The breakfast was good.

Review 59:Wifi only available at the Lobby

Review 60:Stunning view from windows Good Location Great Breakfast

Review 61:Wifi worked only in the lobby. Hotel is a little old.

Review 62:Staff was very friendly and helpful. The place was kept very clean.

Review 63:The rooms were small, but comfortable, with a sink and a closet allowing us to unpack our belongings easily. Although we were next to a family with a toddler, our room stayed wonderfully quiet. The view was stunning, the food was delicious, and the staff was always helpful and gracious.

Review 64:Wifi only worked in lobby. We shared the facility with a large youth sports camp(lots of teenagers!)

Review 65:Family room on top floor is very nice and has a beautiful view of the alps. Two bathrooms which was great. Breakfast is excellent.

Review 66:Wifi is very poor in second floor. I also wish the staff can provide more info about the town rather than just checking us in.

Review 67:Location is great. Breakfast is great.

Review 68:spotty wifi (only in lobby)

Review 69:We loved the location in Murren. It was so well taken care of albeit a little old. The view, value, cleanliness, wonderful breakfast make this a great choice.

Review 70:The hotel was a bit expensive but everything in Switzerland is. There were shared bathrooms on the floor below us but our room had a private bath (just to be aware when booking).

Review 71:This hotel was in a great location up the mountain in Murren which can only be reached by tram. While more expensive than staying in Interlaken, waking up to the mountains was an experience and one we'd repeat. The views were breathtaking. The hotel staff were extremely helpful, friendly and eager to please. We were a group of adult friends/couples traveling and had the 5 person room. It was very spacious and had a full bath and half bath. The breakfast was awesome and had the whole array of cold cuts, breads, cereals, teas, coffees, juices etc. The breakfast itself was worth a lot. We would stay here again.

Review 72:Staff was not friendly or service oriented. Price was high for qualityof the room. Sportchalet Murren's business appears to be hostinglarge groups of vacationing school children. When checking in I wastold I only had the room for two of the three nights reserved, butwhen I booked another hotel and tried to check out after two nights, Iwas going to be charged 90% of the third night because I was checkingout early.

Review 73:Location. They had a room available. The room was clean.

Review 74:there was no wifi in the bedroom

Review 75:Best views from my window. Spacious balcony added to the openness feeling. Neat and nice room, excellent breakfast every morning: an incentive for me to wake up and rush to the breakfast table :)

Review 76:Rooms dated and have an odor. Not sure if because I was above the kitchen. Internet spotty. Shower linings have molds! None of these would prevent me from staying here!

Review 77:The view of Eiger from hotel window. Staff is very helpful in answering questions. Even though I was there during the Jungfrau marathon I did no run into anyone in the bathroom (2 toilets) or showers (separate room with 5 or 6 showers). Showers have very good pressure. Loc is very close to all 3 train stations! COOP grocery store is less than a minute away!

Review 78:you can use wifi in your own room.

Review 79:The location of the hotel is very good. You can see wonderful landscape in hotel balcony and breakfast is very delicious.

Review 80:We understood that the bathrooms were outside of the room but it would have been nice if the bookings.com web page explained that they were like college dorm rooms. It wasn't a big problem, just a surprise.

Review 81:The location was perfect and our room had a wonderful view. The staff was very helpful with everything and we enjoyed the included breakfasts.

Review 82:I thought this hotel gave incredible value for money for the single traveller. 55sfr p/n for my own room...how can you beat this? Breakfast was also very good.

Review 83:Would be nice to have a bathroom in a room (but we knew this ahead of time). Wi-Fi only accessible on the first floor.

Review 84:Staff was attentive and friendly. Place was as expected, no surprises. Very nice view.

Review 85:friendly owner and staff, they really go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant and enjoyable stay. lent me an umbrella when it was raining, and bought fresh bread and croissant for breakfast

Review 86:Sportchalet was in a very beautiful setting and walking distance to thetrain. Very comfortable and relaxed setting. Wonderful breakfast.

Review 87:Cannot connect to wifi, it sucks! And the decoration is 80' fashion.Staff attitude is just so-so.

Review 88:Location is good, easy to get to Schilthorn. Good breakfast.

Review 89:Nothing.

Review 90:Fantastic view from the bedroom! The staffs were very friendly and really helpful. Couldn't ask for more!

Review 91:Price is good. View is perfect. Breakfast is quite nice. Location is also good. I love the bathroom shared.

Review 93:Long wait until check-in

Review 95:Avoid this accommodation at all costs. You've been warned.

Review 96:The breakfast.
