Reviews for Château d'Ouchy

Review 1:The only thing we wish we had was a bigger option of pillows or maybe just a couple more in the room

Review 2:This hotel is by far one of the best Europe hotels we have stayed in so far, even better than some 5 star hotels we stayed at. Very quiet and peaceful. Amazingly nice staff and just a perfect place!

Review 3:Noise traffic emptying the bins and glasses so early. Cold during the night

Review 4:Can only talk for the room we had but very cold and noisy. Did not sleep vert well with traffic. Up at 6 not funny

Review 5:Great location! Redone with a lot of taste and access to the Lausanne Palace & Spa. Breakfast on the terrace on a sunny day. Couldn't be better!

Review 6:On site parking capability is limited - we were fortunate to be able to park there.

Review 7:Beautiful old chateau style hotel right on Lake Geneva near restaurants and attractions. The facilities are fresh and updated. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 8:none

Review 9:I have stayed here six times. Each time the stay is consistently perfect. The reception in warm, the rooms clean the linens fresh. Not overly minimalist, but with attention to important details, bringing the best out in this wonderful property.

Review 10:Couldn't fault hotel

Review 11:We liked that hotel was right at the lake convient to the ferry. The room & bathroom were extremely large & comfortable. The Restsurant was intimate with excellent food

Review 12:SERVICE! Staff is friendly but not organised. We booked a breakfast for the day after our wedding but they prepared it for 20 people instead of the 30 people we announced so in the end we could spend time with half our guests that had breakfast in another room! Also, it really looked like a conference table!.. absolutely no decoration.. And when you arrive at 5am after a celebration and the key doesn't work and the bride has to wait 15 minutes to get in her room it's never a great start of the stay..

Review 13:Very clean, decoration is nice..

Review 14:Sunday morning breakfast was understaffed, however the food was as excellent as the previous morning.

Review 15:Everything! Location excellent, interior design, and room/bed comfort excellent. Quality of food excellent.

Review 16:Pricey- but you get what you pay for.

Review 17:Staff were amazing. Gave us a visitors pass so we could take transportation around the city for free. Also helped direct U.S. Everywhere. Even on the trains as we were leaving.

Review 18:Regular hotel guests were prevented from using the lobby area and terrace due to a wedding. We were asked to leave the area. My husband and I were literally sent out in the rain. We logged a complaint but no one followed up with us. The hotel is small and we were not permitted to use it.

Review 19:The location is ideal.

Review 20:The neighbors were a little noisy especially with the connecting door between us but that is not the hotel's fault.

Review 21:The service, the rooms, everything.

Review 22:There are many, many aggressive birds on the terraces (bar & restaurant). Parking situation somewhat difficult (very limited at location). Breakfast was average.

Review 23:Grand, prime location. Beautiful rooms with great views. Friendly staff, well managed.

Review 24:We were upgraded to a junior suite which was exceptional,. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The entire ambience of the hotel was sophisticated yet relaxed. We would definitely return.

Review 25:No tea making facilities and nothing provided to heat water even on request.

Review 26:The location with the lake around 3 sides of the Chateau, the swimming pool and the serene gardens of the chateau. We enjoyed our stay.

Review 27:Relatively unexperienced waiters expecially at breakfast Little or no assistance they do not take used dishes from the table. She kept touching her hairs doing nothing. No answer at concierge 0hone calls

Review 28:Location château view

Review 29:You can't called that room spa, but you can get free access to Lausanne palace spa if you want. On the reception there is only one person, who makes check in, help with your luggage and so on.

Review 30:The best place to stay in Lausanne in summer. We have got free upgreat and stay in the best room( on the top floor). The view is beautiful, antique furniture, spacious room, clean and light. The hotel itself is small, but nice. 4+

Review 31:Everything! Really. Room was superb with an incredible view, the external pool, the location, the style, the cleanliness... Although it is not a Palace and rather a small hotel, staff was very friendly, and helpful and willing to do the extra-mile, while remaining discrete.

Review 32:Too many people using the restaurant who are not hotel guests. This means nomplace for you if you do not reserv in advance.

Review 33:The castle style, food, location.

Review 34:The wifi is a bit unreliable. They need more staff covering breakfast as they ran out of food items, glassware, plates, coffee cups quickly and you had to ask for these items to be replaced.

Review 35:The bed was very comfortable; the staff accommodating; the room and rest of hotel very clean. The food at breakfast was delicious and the view of the lake stunning!

Review 36:Little cold in our room, the rooms between 3rd and 4th floor are only accessible by stairs, keep that in mind if you have a heavy luggage!

Review 37:In the very centre, on-site parking available (25chf/day), spacious bathroom, comfortable bed, decent wine selection at the bar

Review 38:The mini bar expenses were ridiculously high which caused us to not use it.

Review 39:We loved the happy hour with delicious appetizers. The lounge is sophisticated and comfortable.

Review 40:We liked the decoration, which was simple and understated, the art pieces around the public areas were creative and contemporary. The service at reception and in the bar was personal and efficient.

Review 41:None in the past 6 stays.

Review 42:Amazing venue presented consistently. On site parking very convenient. Discrete entry and exit. Very helpful staff. Prestige location for a business lunch or dinner. Exquisite.

Review 43:Wonderful decor and hotel architecture. Location near the Olympic Museum and the lake. Great staff - Very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this boutique hotel - One of the best we have ever stayed in

Review 44:the bathroom was a bit small, compared to the size of the room (lacked places to put our toiletries)

Review 45:The architecture of the hotel has a lot of charm. The tower form the 12th century where we had our junior suite remains. Lots of charm, with comfort. Nice lobby with light to wait, read, in the afternoon. free wifi everywhere (except in the restaurant). Staff very attentive.

Review 46:nothing

Review 47:Great staff, obviously very well managed. Upmarket without pretence. This medieval Castle has a unique set up, mixing medieval feeling and luxurious modern amneties. Unique central location next to the Lake, fantastic Views

Review 48:The prestige room was very pretty, but we missed a bathtub.

Review 49:We had a beautiful "prestige" room, close to sauna and steamroom (particularly appreciated in old November/December weather. The situation in Ouchy was perfect for our purpose, the 13 points Gault Millet restaurant was fantastic,so was the bar (good barfood). We love hotels where you can still open the windows and wake up to birdsong, and this in a magic place.

Review 50:Management made our stay a very special one, as it was my wife`s 40s b-day...truly amazing location and service...food was also fantastic. 5 stars all the way.

Review 51:Nothing

Review 52:Large room. Very comfortable and well decorated, with view on the lake. A pass was provided to use town transport freely. Event though you arrive late you're welcomed as a VIP.

Review 53:plug of basin in en-suite bathroom very dirty, so drainage very slow until rectified

Review 54:location, easy flat walking and access to local shops. staff very friendly and helpful breakfast, with items from news in many countries

Review 55:They need outlets on the desk to plug in a laptop. I had to move the laptop for charging and work on battery.

Review 56:Everything... especially the views and services.

Review 57:The only thing I wasn't happy about which was no fault of this hotel but around 7am there were loud smashing noises coming from either the restaurants or other buildings, throwing glass bottles into a bin, this went on for a good half hour. It didn't affect me too much as I was getting up early to go for a run, however it did disturb my friends sleep.

Review 58:Stunning location, our room over looked Lake Geneva and the pretty Town of Lausanne. The warm, friendly and helpful welcome we received was lovely. The outside pool area was a gorgeous place to relax before using the spa. Our bedroom was a superior room facing the front of the hotel, the only one it seemed with a balcony which was great to step out on to admire the views.

Review 59:Very minor but the pool needed to be geared as Summer temps were quite cool

Review 60:Friendly and attentive staff Big room Everything is very clean Close to shops Enables free use of subway

Review 61:Nothing not to like.

Review 62:Location, stunning scenery in this most beautiful part of Switzerland, wonderful staff & quality service. A very clean well presented hotel. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Review 63:Service was strange - in some cases they seemed to want to help, but didn't follow through (eg, didn't know boat schedules and offered to bring them by the room, but never showed up). Couldn't help with restaurant reservations. Could feel bed springs.

Review 64:View, location, ease of getting to town, boats

Review 65:We stayed 2 nights to explore Geneva and surrounding area. The terrace bar by the lake was a great place to relax. Enjoyed the bar food. We ordered room service evening meal and breakfast. The room was so comfortable I didn't want to leave.

Review 66:Very professional staff, including prompt and thorough cleaning every morning. Very comfortable bed, including some of the nicest sheets I've slept on in a hotel. Quiet. Well located away from the bustle yet close to the tram. You get what you pay for!

Review 67:Room 108 - bathroom floor gets very wet, plus there is no drainage, needs more silicone or rubber in corner of shower screen and bath to prevent water damage. The toilet door is already badly water damaged.

Review 68:Everything else was perfect

Review 69:Nothing, mmm maybe the pillows were too soft, but that's personal preference and they did offer more pillow if you wanted.

Review 70:Location, relaxing views of the lake from our bedroom, very close to metro, free travel on all public transport while staying at Ouchy.

Review 71:This is a very historic building in a great location directly on the waterfront. The rooms were excellent and the staff were very attentive. This was the perfect spot to get around Lausanne.

Review 72:Pricy, no complementary coffee in room or elsewhere, lift was touchy trying to get to work. When outside bar area was full, could not go to outside dining area to sit and have a drink. We stayed at Movenpick before in Amsterdam and after in Geneva and both were very accommodating. No extras here! English TV channels were very limited.

Review 73:Beautiful amazing view. Convent to Metro. Very nice room. Internet was great!

Review 74:Pesky sparrows during breakfast on the terrace.

Review 75:We liked the location, the view from our room of the lake and the Alps, the proximity to the waterfront park, the beautifully furnished room and immaculate bathroom. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 76:A little noisy, normal for the great location.

Review 89:Great location and a beautiful, clean hotel. It's a wonderful mix of historic charm with modern comfort

Review 90:The staff were all friendly, had smile all of the time and wanted to help.

Review 93:Location and staff.
