Reviews for Hotel Jungfrau Mürren
Review 1:Best to get in touch with the hotel before arrival if you'll be carrying things in the snow, as they can help you get there.
Review 2:This is a great, family-friendly hotel in the beautiful town of Murren. We traveled with young children and they made it easy for us with a great breakfast, a toy area, and a family-friendly policy. We would love to visit again sometime.
Review 3:The hotel manager was wonderful. It was off season so we were expecting down service but we received exceptional service! The hotel breakfast was great, they assisted us with trails and sites to see nearby, and even gave us a ride to the station when we departed. The view of the mountains from town was amazing. I would definitely stay here again and would use this hotel!
Review 4:Wish I could have stayed longer. Loved my visit
Review 5:Stayed here before. Did not disappoint. Had to move reservation down due to car issue and hotel accommodated. Great friendly staff. Food outstanding. Room cleanliness great. Big value. Location in the heart of Murren. I will stay here again and again.
Review 6:The staff was excellent . Very helpful and polite. Our room overlooked the Alps and the little church bells rang every day at 4 o'clock . So picturesque!
Review 7:The place looked 'sterile' - maybe because it was off season. But the hotel had very little happening.
Review 8:Location was good almost equal distance from the train and cable car stations. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Pickup from the train station was nice especially given the 5 in of snow on the ground.
Review 9:The wifi is only available in the lobby area, not in the room.
Review 10:I've stayed in this hotel for two days. The stuff are very nice. The room are clean and comfortable. It is a location to stay away from the crowds.
Review 11:Only free internet in the common areas where the lighting was very poor quality. The hotel is not expensive for Switzerland but compared to other countries it is.
Review 12:Murren is a wonderfull location. The hotel have some nice old atmosphere and friendly staff.
Review 13:Wifi only in the lounge area. Breakfast quite basic.
Review 14:On the higher street that runs through Murren, one minute from the sports centre, the swimming pool of which the hotel gave a free pass to use. Only a minute or two from several good restaurants. Good-sized room with a nice bathroom, and the hotel has a large lounge area on the ground floor.
Review 15:Friendly and helpful staff. Exceptionally clean hotel. Well appointed rooms. Substantial and varied breakfast. Absolutely no hassle from start to end of holiday. Staff even arranged a lift to the station. I have stayed in this hotel for many years and will continue to return, as it could not be faulted.
Review 16:Pillows could be upgraded as well as some bathroom updates
Review 17:Almost everything. The staff were incredible not to mention thatthe location was one of the most breathtaking places I have everbeen in my life.
Review 18:The hotel is tired and badly needs a facelift. The staff was unenthusiastic and the breakfast mediocre
Review 19:I had a private balcony with a view of the spectacular mountains
Review 20:Only negative is the free wifi didn't work in rooms -- had to go to the lobby to use.
Review 21:View and location are beautiful and convenient. Breakfast buffet was great.
Review 22:Hotel Jungfrau was a clean, friendly property with a nice lounge, free WiFi and comfortable rooms. We had a balcony with mountain view, and that was just beautiful. Close to the village sports center and near to the train station.
Review 23:The room and hallways had a funny smell that I can't describe. We made sure to leave our balcony doors slightly open at all times and that helped a lot.
Review 24:Our room was on the 3rd floor and had 2 balconies facing the mountains. The view we had was breathtaking! Be sure to request an upper level room with a balcony facing the mountains. Breakfast was pretty good and is included in the price of the room. Great customer service too.
Review 25:First room given smelled like cigarette smoke. We asked to switch. First receptionist denied our request, saying all rooms are non-smoking. We asked a 2nd person and although she was not pleased, she gave us another room. Murren can be difficult and expensive to get to. Lauterbrunnen would've worked just fine for me.
Review 26:Mountain view is breathtaking. The room was spacious and very clean. Staff can be friendly. Murren is an off the beaten path kind of destination. Not many overnighters so it was very relaxing and quiet at night once the daytrippers are gone.
Review 27:Everything shuts down at 10pm, something American's arent used to. Wifi only free in lobby, but the lobby is really nice. In the top floor corner room the ceilings are very low in the bathroom, making it difficult.
Review 28:The hotel was great, some of the most friendly staff I've come across, you felt like you were the only guest. Food was priced well. And very interesting to take a cable car there.
Review 29:Free Internet is only available in the public areas. We had to go down to the lobby nightly, with others to access our emails.
Review 30:We got a balcony view of the mountains and it was worth every penny!
Review 31:a few lightbulbs were burned out... not a big deal at all
Review 32:our room had a balcony that had an AMAZING mountain view, very nice accommodation for mountain town, it is not luxury, but you shouldn't expect that in this location, really large lobby where we could convene with our family
Review 33:location is a bit far from the train stations. However, staff were very nice to give me a free ride to the station when i checked out. It was really very helpful of them!
Review 34:Everything. Murren is such a beautiful village! The hotel offers very good views of the village and the mountains, from both front and back. Room is very clean and has everything you need. Breakfast is fabulous and has variety. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Review 35:Murren is a great place to stay and this hotel is nice. You can see the mountains in the lobby. Everything is satisfy. Do not forget to ask the staff for a hiking tour instruction around Murren. Won't regret.
Review 36:MURREN VALLEY WAS LOOKS LIKE HORROR PLACE HAHAH. BECAUSE WHEN I WAS THERE, NO BODY WAS IN WHOLE CITY . I SAW ONLY 4 PEOPLE IN 24 HOURS, AND IT WAS BECAUSE OF OFF SEASON.
Review 37:AWSOME VIEWS FROM MY ROOM, WONDERFUL QUITE PLACE.
Review 38:Hotel a little rough around the edges, furniture worn and in need of repair or replacement. No small feat considering everything is brought up to the town on a cable car.
Review 39:We enjoyed our stay in the off-season in the quiet town of Murren. Staff friendly, helpful, and efficient. Great fresh-made breakfast daily. Love those European orange-yolk eggs. The mountain views are simply stupendous. A magical place that feels a million miles away from the Real World. Tap water is perfectly pure; no need to buy ridiculously expensive bottled water.
Review 40:We had a budget room. Although well appointed it was very warm and where the bed was felt a bit closed in. We were on the 3rd floor with a slanted roof.
Review 41:Maxine at reception is the most beautiful, happy, helpful and welcoming young lady. First impression are important. Breakfast was amazing plenty of options to fill up on for the day. Easy to access all of Murren which isn't that big. Wonderful meeting so mant different nationalities in one place.
Review 42:Nothing to improve upon, this hotel is great but it may be helpful to know that this hotel seemed popular as it is near the nursery slope, so there was a little bit of noise of excited kids running in corridors but this was not a nuisance and is not a criticism of the hotel itself, just something to bear in mind.
Review 43:We arrived in Murren late March, so the snow in many village areas was beginning to thaw; however, as non-skiers this was not an issue and made access along hiking paths and walks between the cable cars and shops very easy. There was still plenty of snow on the mountain tops and pistes and the skiers we chatted with were happy with the conditions and we enjoyed a few of the sledge runs and snow ball fights! The hotel is attractive from the outside and inside it was light, airy and beautifully decorated; contemporary in style, warm, smart and clean. The staff were multilingual and always friendly and helpful; there was even a personalised welcome letter for guests introducing the staff members by name too. We paid the extra for the mountain view room, which was breath-taking and quite distracting!. My daughter's room opposite was the slightly cheaper room with a forest view and this was also beautiful. The hotel was close to the well stocked Coop and the prices were reasonable, some positively cheap e.g. a bottle of pink champagne was just £12'ish. To get to this hotel/Murren we drove and parked at the Stechelberg cable car park; it was just 11 CHF per adult up to Murren village (the car park from Sat to Mon cost 18 CHF payable at the meter at end of stay); alternatively my daughter had travelled by train reaching Lauterbrunnen station and from there it was easy to cross the road to catch the cable car/train up to Murren. Dining wise, in the hotel we were served by a lovely, efficient waitress; a delicious fondue & buffet salad; 166 CHF for dinner for 4 people with alcohol & coffees. As we needed to get to Geneva (circa 2.5 hours drive) to fly home, we left the hotel at 7am on our last day and the hotel kindly suggested a breakfast 'bag-to-go' so we did not miss out. The cable car runs early (from about 5am!). We would definitely stay in this hotel again, in fact we didn't want to leave :) and loved our stay in Murren.
Review 44:Room cleanliness was average, not good isolation (difficult to nap/sleep in due to people stomping around the hallway).
Review 45:Hotel is close to ski piste and the apres-ski Gondola bar in Murren. Nice breakfast, ok value for money.
Review 46:Location, up slope all the way down the road. If you plan to drag your luggage all the way, please call the hotel for porting service. Bed linen, rough surface, uncomfortable.
Review 47:Small room with little balcony, view is nice. Quiet village with minimum light, best for stargazing from the balcony. There is a big lounge downstair, people can hang around for the free wifi.
Review 48:Nothing
Review 49:The staff was really nice and friendly. They offered me some great hiking routes and suggestions for trip. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was abundant and diverse. I had a nice stay there
Review 50:Mürren is beautiful and this hotel is perfectly situated. The staff was incredibly friendly and our corner room on the 3rd floor had a wonderful view. Breakfast was delicious.
Review 51:Everything. The staff is very friendly, location is perfect and the surroundings are extraordinary. The hotel has clean rooms and a special place for relaxing where you can read a book, check your emails or just sit and admire the view. We really enjoyed staying there and we would come back.
Review 52:Wish they had wi-fi in the rooms
Review 53:We loved our balcony room and found the staff to be super helpful and friendly. We loved the small-town atmosphere, large lounge area and the breakfast was great. Live music one night too!
Review 54:I stayed for 4 nights, same kind of breakfast food served every day:( However, I would like to point that the foods for breakfast are nice with good quality.
Review 55:All of service and facilities.
Review 56:lack of facilities lack of detail for walking in area (sights etc) Ceiling was very low Reception was without atmosphere No charm (better places out there)
Review 57:room had spectacular views of the mountains, staff wonderful picking us up at the train stop, giving us a coffee to recover from our travel, breakfast was exceptional
Review 58:not a thing bad to say. a wonderful stay
Review 59:room had spectacular views of the mountains, the staff was wonderful picking us up at the train stop, giving us a coffee to recover from our travel, breakfast was good
Review 60:The pillow was a bit too squishy, but I am pretty particular when it comes to the ideal pillow.
Review 61:Pretty much everything. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was excellent, the room was perfect, the view was amazing.
Review 62:The owners need to put some work in the hotel. The balconies are badly need of repair and the hotel its self needs to be updated. If I would return to Murren I would not stay here.
Review 63:The house maids were wonderful, they were very friendly.
Review 64:Just the weather, that we booked the room 1 month in advance to go to Jungfraujach. But the bad weather, thus we missed it and also the James bond 007 (forgot the name). We went to Trummelbach Falls, grimmelwald instead.
Review 65:Staff were friendly, gave us the good advice where to go if the weather is not good. Feel free to ask them. Food is also good. There was a waiter (young man) took good care for us. Forgot to ask his name. Location and atmosphere is perfect, 5 mins walk to and from the train station.
Review 66:Blankets had holes Ceiling was very low and I'm only 6'2", I was in rm 325 Ordered a double room and allocated a twin room instead. Reception was without atmosphere nice furniture but no charm
Review 67:The view from my room and staff
Review 68:For the expense if our room, I it would have been nice to have free wifi in the guest rooms themselves. Currently an additional fee is attached if one wants wifi in the room.
Review 69:Our balcony view of the mountains was spectacular!! The staff was very helpful as far as explaining the variety of walking paths available, depending in the difficulty and length of what we wanted. Breakfast was great!
Review 70:Staff should be more professional and friendly. Customers need special attention. Almost far from train station. Facilities like microwave and boiler and tea and coffee should be available in a common area for everyone to use. Even if its chargeable but it should be easy to access.
Review 71:Big lobby. Close to grocery store.
Review 72:Nothing to dislike
Review 73:Comfortable , clean , friendly staff, great breakfast and fantastic view. Wish we had more nights at this hotel and in Murren. Quiet town in the Swiss Alps. Don't miss this town if you love clean air, views and walking. No wonder the receptionist at the hotel loves it.
