Reviews for Hotel Terraviña

Review 1:The pool is very dirty. The price is just too high for Santa Cruz.

Review 2:For those who want to get away from the noise and disturbance, the hotel is located in a very quiet small town.

Review 3:The hotel is situated within the Laura Hartwig vineyard, with beautiful views of the valley and surrounding mountains from the pool. The hotel is small with a welcoming feeling and the staff are very lovely and helpful. We really felt at home the couple days we stayed there.

Review 4:Stunning location in the middle of a vineyards, a few kilometres from town - was very romantic walking through the vineyards to get to the nearby restaurant (which is also fantastic). The pool and garden was lovely, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and it had one of the best/ healthiest breakfast spreads we came across on our trip

Review 5:I wish I could have stayed longer. The setting and hotel grounds are amazing, the staff attentive and personable. I had a beautiful room with a gorgeous view.

Review 6:WiFi connection was very poor. We could hear some noise from the people walking by our room but not a big deal.

Review 7:The staff is very friendly and the property is beautiful, clean and well-kept. A great place to relax.

Review 8:Located outside the town but walking distance to a couple of good restaurants via the vineyards. Torch supplied. Visitors must visit the museum in cochagua it's amazing with a very interesting exhibit on the Chilean mine rescue. Also the Montes wine tour should not be missed.

Review 9:Bathrooms a bit tired.

Review 10:The reception staff in this hotel were super helpful and welcoming. Location in the countryside amongst vineyards but still in walking distance of two restaurants. The rooms could do with a bit of updating but we rather liked the faded charm. Nice garden pool area

Review 11:I really liked everything. I just wanna sugest built a small bar near the pool. it would also be great to have a spa inside the hotel.

Review 12:People were very friendly and helped us a lot in find great restaurants and the best chilean vineyards in the area. We went in the summer, so We have the chance to enjoy an amazing swimming pool.

Review 13:The bathroom is very small and the shower have courtains that keep touching you during shower. The price is too high to offer a bathroom like that.

Review 14:The hotel is inside a vinyard and you can walk inside it to go to dinner

Review 15:Nothing

Review 16:Everything. The hotel is situated in a vineyard with open views, but is within walking distance of a nice town. Great restaurants just a walk through the vineyard away. Owners and staff extremely pleasant and knowledgeable, with fluent English.

Review 17:As a business traveler, breakfast is not ready until 8 am. In additionthere is nobody at the front desk until 8 am. I was not aware of thisthe night before and was unable to eat breakfast and had to wait for theowner to check us out.

Review 18:As a Leisure traveler I would highly recommend Terravina! Very cozy, relaxing and beautiful. Staff was very friendly and accomodating.

Review 19:There are wineyards all around, where you can go jogging/ walking. Pool is great as well. And breakfast was the best from all our trip with a great selection of fruit and even a Christmas cake!

Review 20:This is a small owner/family run property, but you do not get the warm and welcome feelings from the owners. Instead you get the Motel 6 type services - walk in, sign in, here is your key, following me. Want to take a walk ? just go outside, take a left, no more info. Did not get greeted by anyone after check in, I felt warmer in my destist's office.

Review 21:Not costing $300 per night Surrounded by Wineries owned by others

Review 22:Price was a little high considering this is just before peak season.

Review 23:Rooms comfortable and spacious. Water was instantly hot without having to waste water getting it to shower. Breakfast included a large selection of items including a variety of breads and seasonal fresh fruit, as well as choice of eggs cooked to order. Each room has a small terrace with chairs which look out over vineyards. The hotel is away from town center, so it is quiet and there is a winery (Laura Hartwig) and a restaurant a short walk through the vineyard. Would definitely recommend to others, and would stay again.

Review 24:Great place, I can truly recommend it to everyone that want to enjoy a couple of days in that region. The hotel is lovely, the staff is super helpfull and the breakfast is served with homemade bread (very very good)! We got great recommendations for restaurants and activities (horseback riding, recommend do in it too).

Review 25:We loved everything about Terravina, the balcony overlooking the vineyard, the pool, free breakfast, kind staff and perfect location. We enjoyed walking to a nearby winery and restaurant.

Review 26:Nice hotel in the middle of the wine country, with a nice restaurant within walking distance through the vineyards. Lovely location. Very good breakfast.

Review 27:Nothing.

Review 28:Location, quality and friendliness.

Review 29:French doors opening onto balcony overlooking vineyard, excellent restaurants nearby, cleanliness of hotel and good spoken english

Review 30:The hotel, the surroundings, nature, silence

Review 31:The location is excellent, just outside of the city center in the middle of the vineyard. Breakfast is amazingly good.

Review 32:Great location just outside of town, close enough to experience Santa Cruz. Knowledgeable bilingual staff, very accommodating

Review 33:An absolutely stunning property with one of the most beautiful views in the Colchagua Valley!

Review 34:Great staff good breakfast nice location

Review 35:Bed was not very comfortable

Review 36:No phone

Review 37:The hotel is a good place to have some days rest during a trip in Chile. They give good advice where to go and where to eat

Review 38:Wifi

Review 39:Relax

Review 40:`lovely swimming pool, great breakfast.

Review 41:Would have loved to have in room coffee.

Review 42:Clean, simple and relaxing. Warm welcome, great breakfasts.

Review 43:Everything. Wondeful. Set in the middle of winery. Great view, very confortable clean helpful staff.

Review 44:Lack of soul, very cold attitude of the front desk staff and lack of customer skills

Review 45:The vineyard location

Review 46:everything was great.

Review 47:Calm little hotel in a great location! We had a perfect stay.

Review 48:Having to leave ...

Review 49:Location, simple but very comfortable

Review 50:The shower was a bit old, but the rest of the bathroom ok. If the hotel is full, you do hear other guests.

Review 51:It is really in the middle of the vineyards, beautiful. The breakfast was very good. The hotel staff helped us arrange transport by taxi to the vineyards at good rates, and with dinner reservations. No traffic noise.

Review 52:Think it should have a room service menu until about 10 pm. All they serve in the room is a cheese plate until 8 pm.

Review 53:Wonderful place, great rooms, very peaceful! Can't wait to go back!

Review 54:Very pleasant hotel and staff with good breakfast. Owners were very helpful in providing advice about local attractions. We very much enjoyed the setting of the hotel in a vineyard.

Review 55:open design of shower - uncomfortable side chair of rattan was without a cushion - small size television w/o remote to change audio/language - no side table in room just one chair - small bath towels - desk staff not very friendly on first day checkin but more helpful in days following

Review 56:cozy bed, sheets and coverlet - clean room - vineyards, birds, gardens - easy access to local wineries and restaurants - breakfast spread was good and impressive - economically priced lodging

Review 57:Always a pleasure to stay here; perfect location in the Laura Hartwig vineyard; views of the mountains with grape vines in the foreground; clean and comfortable rooms with friendly staff and a great breakfast.

Review 58:Those staff who didn't speak much English didn't even try to be helpful.

Review 59:Good location among the vines with lovely rural views from the rooms. A good base for exploring the local vineyards.

Review 60:The weather was too cold to enjoy the fantastic swimming pool. It wasn't a problem for us on this trip, as we were celebrating something special, but on a normal trip of ours this would have been too pricey for us (although it is definitely worth what you pay).

Review 61:Attentive staff, knowledgeable and informative about things to do locally, even ringing ahead to check if things were functioning/running. Due to a time zone mis-understanding we missed breakfast, but they provided a platter each and coffee for us anyway. Fantastic view and location, right in the heart of a vineyard, with tasting and tour, and restaraunts just a short walk away through the vines. And the town a short walk further down the road.

Review 62:Rustic but lovely setting in the middle of a vineyard. Close to Santa Cruz and within easy during distance of many vineyards and other attractions. Loveless pool and excellent breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff .

Review 63:The price is a bit steep, but we knew this before we booked, and there was no problem getting the VAT-free price for foreign tourists.

Review 64:The hotel is in a lovely location, in the middle of a vineyard. It has a nice swimming pool. Breakfasts are nice, and we particularly liked the fact that families with children have their own separate breakfast room! The nearby Italian resturant, Vino Bello, is not as exceptional as the reviews suggest, however, the quality of the food is very good, and at least they ofer their full menu, unlike other restaurants in Santa Cruz, where you turn up for dinner and they tell you that half their menu is unavailable.

Review 65:We needed to clean some baby bottles and the owner did not like that we used the hotel kitchen for that.. she was a little rude.

Review 66:The place is nice ... perfect for relax.. the walktrip to restaurant is a must.

Review 67:The hotel is located in a vineyard, so when you open your room window you can see a beautiful scene. The hotel is not so far to Santa Cruz town which is perfect to get wineries tour or casino area. The hotel has a pool that is really good when you arrive from Wineries tours specially in a hot day.

Review 68:Wifi weak at end of hotel but that's just nit picking. They have repeaters thru most of hotel so they have invested in it. Just weak on the end.

Review 69:Far better than staying in the town of Santa Cruz. Great pool, very accommodating owners. Beatiful property. The set up a car & driver as well as made our reservations at the wineries. Let us move into the suite for the regular room price when we extended. Very nice.

Review 70:Everything was perfect on my end.

Review 71:The Hotel is perfectly located, it is clean and well maintained. The staff are extremely helpful and go beyond the call of duty to make you feel comfortable. It is an amazing location, overall a fantastic place.

Review 72:The hotel has no restaurant. There is only one good restaurant onwalking distance. (Sant Cruz is ca. 30 minutes walking.)

Review 73:A good hotel with a friendly staff.

Review 74:Beautiful hotel in the middle of the wineyards. All rooms (ground and first floor) have little balconies overlooking the vines. Easy walk through the wineyards to a restaurant and winery.

Review 75:Helpful owners who speak great English Lovely situation in amongst the vineyard Lovely location to relax with the pool Breakfast best we had in Chile!

Review 76:The noise isolation, was a bit noisy at night There was a group but that id very atypical and the owner was very concerned about this and made us a discount

Review 77:The owners very kind, the room really comfortable, near nice restaurants

Review 78:No complaints.

Review 79:Lovely hotel in the middle of a vineyard. Enjoyed a couple of perfect relaxing afternoons by the pool while sipping wine admiring the grape vines. Nicely located next to a restaurant which you can reach through the vineyard. At night, you can enjoy a full sky of stars as there's not much light around. The bed was very comfortable. Room and bathroom were clean and a good space. We rented bikes through the front desk and went to a winery close by (1hr and change away) but was very worth it. The region is amazingly beautiful. Breakfast was very nice with a lot of fruits, coffee, ham/cheese, breads, eggs your way...

Review 80:The location in the vineyards is awesome. Recommendations for wine-tastings were given and arrangements were done. Breakfast was great. Nice location in the Colchagua Valley and recommendable to everybody.

Review 81:The end of winter was not the best time to visit (leafless vines, unusable swimming pool), but this was not the fault of the hotel. Themuseum in nearby Santa Cruz provided hours of entertainment.

Review 82:Simple but tasteful decor, no doubt influenced by the Danish owner.Excellent linens, super clean. Very friendly English-speaking staff, ready with helpful suggestions about nearby restaurants and local sight-seeing. Standard Chilean hotel buffet breakfast, nicely presented.

Review 83:The owners were incredibly helpful in making restaurant reservations or anything else needed. The breakfast was a very nice buffet. The lounge area was a comfortable place to enjoy wine by the fire.

Review 84:Wish there were quad rooms to accommodate a family with older kids.

Review 85:Big, spacious rooms surrounded by vineyards. Great heating for fallnights, wonderful shower. Nice staff

Review 86:This hotel is exactly as shown on their website. Rooms were clean andspacious. Our hostess was very helpful in suggesting local wineries andrestaurants. Recommend having a car.

Review 87:The Hotel Terravina is in a beautiful location in the middle of a lovely vineyard. Our room was very comfortable, and we walked thru the vineyard to a great restaurant Vino Bello for a delicious meal. The owners and staff are very nice and accommodating.

Review 88:Great location, great people. My wife and I we stayed in a weekendcelebrating my birthday and I can say that this was my best birthday inmy life. A beautiful swiming pool, vineyards all around, feeling likeDionisos, great places to ride a bicycle, promenades from sunup tosundown. In a phrase: you will forget the bad things, your life is onlysmile, grapes, sun, romantic.

Review 89:Lovely accommodations, with wonderful vistas and opportunity for walking/hiking. Quiet and out of town, but easily accessible to it by bike or car. Friendly and helpful English-speaking owner!

Review 90:No ventilation with only balcony doors that Mosquitos came in through.O.Very warm at night. Needs ac.

Review 91:Great location in the middle of vineyards with a very nice staff.

Review 92:The rooms do tend to get quite hot in the evening if you don´t open your balcony door.

Review 93:We were in Chile for a month and the 5 days we spent at this hotel were our favorite by far. The Santa Cruz area is beautiful with great restaurants and wineries and Terravina is the best place to stay in the area. The staff are friendly and speak English and are more than willing to help you make bookings on your behalf at local places. It is quiet and completely surrounded by grape vines in every direction as far as the eye can see. The swimming pool and lounge deck are beautiful and the breakfast is great. The beds are comfortable, there is strong wifi signal in the room, the linens are great.

Review 94:Very hard to find, few street signs in Santa Cruz and few hotel signs which made finding it for the first time take about an hour. It isn't close to the town off a side street however you are in the middle of the vineyard which is relaxing. Would be nice if they offered more options for lunch of dinner food I thought would make it a great place to stay.

Review 95:Great family run hotel, pool in the middle of the vines and rooms that are clean and good size. Staff is really friendly and the room comes with a nice breakfast which included eggs! They have a nice cheese plate to snack on during the later part of the day.

Review 96:n/a

Review 97:The place, the staff, the owner, the pool, the surroundings, the fact that they provided a shuttle for NY and had champagne waiting for their guests coming from the restaurants

Review 98:We stayed here as a girls weekend but it would have been great as a couple or even a family. The location was stunning, rooms were clean and comfortable, and the ammeneties numerous. Highly reccomend a visit!

Review 99:Incredible service -- they were extremely helpful with dinner and wine tour reservations. Also, the scenery is breathtaking. It's the perfect location for a quiet, relaxing getaway.

Review 100:Nothing!

Review 101:An attractive hotel, well presented and in a peaceful setting amongst the vineyard. The pool was a great way to end the afternoon and it was an easy walk through the grapes to two excellent near by restaurants. The staff were helpful in organising wine tours for us. it was very relaxing and we would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay around Santa Cruz.
