Review 1：The wifi in our suite wasn't working. Some of the electrical sockets in the kitchen were not working. A little far away from shopping amenities.

Review 9：My room was very small. There were cords hanging everywhere and the coffee machine was located too far away from a plug. The rooms are all tile floors and it was very loud - I could hear everything going on in the rooms around me (loud television, bathroom, moving a chair). The staff member working was not very helpful - she didn't give me specific directions about my room and where it was and I almost went into the wrong room. Also the staff are only available form 9am-11pm which is very unusual for a hotel.

Review 10：The location of the property is excellent. Close to the ferry terminal as well as close to several restaurants. If you are on the 3 and 4 floor you have an amazing view. The first time I stayed here it was in a large suite which was great.

Review 14：We where on our honeymoon to visit the island. We made breakfast everyday in the kitchen then took day trips around the island made dinner Afew times also. This saved us money by not paying the tourist prices like tofino and we saved money by having the kitchen. The view was great off the patio.

Review 15：There was no internet. We could detect the network but it was not loading anything. It was in the weekend and the staff told us they cant do anything about it untill Monday!

Review 20：When we checked in the young man was very helpful. When we asked about parking he said the street. As we left a lady came running out to tell us she would allow us to park in a private stall underground at no charge. Made us feel very important.

Review 21：The "welcome"music in the adjacent room was on for the whole night . As no 24 hr frontdesk we could not reach anyone to switch it off. Fas too hot in the room, no instructions on the airco (that was not self-explanatory)

Review 23：WiFi and bath fan did not work, and the manager was unwilling to even accept that fact, let alone adjust the rate. No sponge, brush or dishwasher soap in the kitchen. Poor lighting design and controls. No black-out shades in living room, which serves as the second bedroom. Frosted glass door panels allow light to flow from living room to bedroom, so everyone had better go to bed at the same time.

Review 27：Everyone was kind and friendly, the manager was a great resource for local restaurants. The night manager Matt was helpful offered to help carry groceries and was always cheerful. I loved the convience of having a washer and dryer, the bed are comfortable, with a high end finishes in the suites. The cleaning staff were friendly and efficient.

Review 28：The condo was beautiful, modern, neat, tidy and clean with gorgeous views of the water for the price. We really enjoyed our stay and will return again.

Review 29：Not like a typical Hotel that has services available such as room service, restaurant and pool but we knew this when booking and didn't care if we could have a really nice clean room - its a very nice condo suite with a spa service available. There is however a Restaurant "Bayshore" affiliated to the condo that is next door ( 15% off for guests of Marinaside) that is apparently good according to a local person I talked to. - couldnt find any Linen for the pull out sleeper sofa advertized - we were too late to inquire with fellow in lobby as it closes at 11 pm. - no area at entrance of condo to hang coats etc - only place is in bedroom closet . That closet is huge though!

Review 35：Would like a sponge and dish soap for small dish washing. When leaving the room for the first time, the handle to the inner door came off. In addition, the handle to the hot water in the bathroom sink also came off. One way to cool off the room is to open the french doors, but since there are no screens, bugs could come in. Got rid of a fly by swinging a towel around till it flew out. Perhaps if there was a fly swatter,but then… it can be seen as gross… if it was kept under the kitchen sink I suppose. Hmmm… perhaps something that could get rid of bugs.. an ultraviolet light or fruit fly trap.. but again.. that is seen as gross. The heating cooling system is loud. It was on a timer, but having a quiet system would be better. Couldn't go to sleep with the noise, but once the room was cool, we turned it off and fell asleep. Best to turn the conditioner on while you go out to dinner. Running the conditioner in the other room at least would cut down on the noise level, but then you have to keep the bedroom door open to let the cool air in.

Review 36：When you receive more for what you pay it makes the day. The wow factor is what you will receive. Stayed in the queen suite with kitchen. What was one of the pluses is that it also had a washer and dryer in the room. We were greeted with the television tuned into the Spa music station when we opened the door. Security is good. There is a locking door that leads into a foyer before you get into your room. Furniture is arranged so you do not feel squeezed. The balcony has two french doors that open to a great view of the marina. The bedroom has a large glass window from your knees to the ceiling. There is a fireplace that adds to the cozy feel. Dishwasher was good to have. Provided was one dish detergent. In comparison to other resorts, we wished we stayed here and would of driven the extra minutes to go back and forth to our other destinations with the quality and what was provided.

Review 37：The guy (sorry can't remember his name)on the night desk was awesome. Simply the best. We were running abit late and he stayed on shift and waited for us to check in. Review 38：The basic suite was cramped. The air conditioner, which had to be on or the room got way too warm, was right beside the head of the bed. I moved out of this room after two poor nights of sleep.

Review 39：The presidential sweet was beautiful, spacious and well worth the money. The staff were awesome. Both rooms were very clean. The decor was modern in both rooms.

Review 47：The two floor air conditioning units were very loud and the rooms got very hot without them being on. The kitchen could use more utensils and dishes. There was only 1 place setting for four people, 2 drinking glasses and no wine glasses. Patio table and chairs would have been nice, as decks on either side of us had some. Silverware was also sparse. The pull out sofa has definitely seen better days and was not comfortable to sit on or to sleep on. Dining room chairs are also in need of replacing.

Review 48：Lovely condo/hotel in an excellent location on the marina in Nanaimo. Suite was spacious, very clean, marble floors, granite counter tops, stove, fridge and microwave. Bed was very comfortable and lots of storage in room and very large closet. Thick, beautiful housecoats and slippers were a nice touch. Perfect location, nice restaurant 150 feet from hotel right beside the marina, hotel offered 15% off food from this restaurant which also does take out. Great place to stay for 2 people.

Review 55：The room they tried to give was no view and not even a 10x10 evidently this is the room you get online, I paid for the room prior to looking and would not give me my money back 5 min after I paid, not impressed, they upgraded me for 50.00 The coffee machine did not work and the sofa was the most uncomfortable sofa I have ever sat on! Deck chairs were cheap fold up camping chairs, with a old small chair, not impressed would never stay there again!

Review 97：We rented a studio but it was more like a small bedroom with ensuite. It was linked to a larger room which made it very noisy. The front door was glass which let in a lot of light and very little privacy. The room was Very hot. It had a separate air conditioning unit in the room but it was very loud and only a foot from my pillow therefore could not leave it on during the night. The only view was of the parking lot. We will most likely not be staying again.

Terrible design, right up against the road where you have a lot a traffic catching early ferries. Worst sleep and I am in hotels every week. overall, just plain awful!

Review 100：The room was so small my wife and I had to squeeze by each other to move around. There is not enough room so there is no chair no table. the bathroom was micro scopic. The air conditioner is a portable unit with the heat vent broken off so hot air blows into room. we put the conditioner on to cool the room down came back to find the room air conditioned to 93 degrees. Very stingy with in room coffee.

Review 107：I am sitting outside (on my private patio) having my morning coffee looking out on the Marina. The sun just came up & the birds are singing. What a great way to start the day... The wonderful lady at the front desk upgraded me (with the owners consent) to the "Presidential Suite" at a very affordable rate. I have travelled the country staying in hotels for 15 years and i have never been treated with as much respect and genuine kindness as i have at the Marinaside Resort. The housekeeping girls are most excellent and friendly and strive to make sure i have everything i need to be comfortable. In fact i love it here so much that i have extended my stay by an extra week and i will never stay anywhere else when i visit Nanaimo. If there is nothing available here, then i will wait until there is before returning. Why this hotel only has a 7.1 score on this site is beyond me. I cannot see how anyone could not fall in love with this place. This is definately my new "home away from home". I suggest that more hotels and their owners take as much pride in their business and their customer service as this resort does. Thank you to everyone here who has made me feel so welcome and comfortable. Keep up the good work guys...your a 10 in my books ! !

Review 119：The whole experience was awful. Check in was painfully slow andunorganized, the rooms are smaller than any hotel room in Europe, thelayout was ridiculous for a new building. The room did not have enoughtowels (for two), the airconditioner was set to a timer so when we gotback from our family dinner the a/c had shut off - it was 82 degreesin the room. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone ever.

Review 121：It took over an hour to check in and the first room was occupied. Thesecond room was full of the towels and was dirty and the next two thedesk clerk checked were also occupied.. I was afraid that someone wouldcome into my room as a result and they need to fix their roomreservation system as it was unsafe and clearly broken and the poorclerk was almost in tears. He finally upgraded me to a different type ofroom but didn't show me how to work the air or the tv so I was coldand couldn't see the news
