Newly-renovated in 2014, Hotel des Alpes is located in the midst of the Graubünden Mountains, a 10-minute walk from Flims Waldhaus centre and the Caumasee Lake, and offers offers an indoor pool, a sauna and studios with a balcony and stunning mountain views. The closest bus stop can be found right next to the property.
The units at the Hotel des Alpes also come with private bathroom facilities, free WiFi and satellite TV. In addition, the studios are fitted with a well-equipped kitchenette.
A delicious dinner can be enjoyed at the on-site restaurant and pizzeria Al Forno. Guests can also relax in the garden or on the shared terrace, while children are welcome to play in the on-site games room.

Review 1：restaurant slow (wait 1h despite reservation, but it was high season), breakfast selection could have a bit more variety

Review 3：Staff could be more welcoming and friendly. I was repeatedly 'encouraged' to leave a positive review on this site. Its true, a night there was very good value for money - that is what made me choose this hotel.

Review 4：The room was equipped with cool design furniture and a nice shower. The hotel is close to a beautiful forest. Breakfast was really good!

Review 5：The hotel itself was very tourist and skiing oriented, and the breakfast started pretty late. I had to be in Bonaduz for a meeting at 8:30 AM, and at the hotel the breakfast was supposed to start at 7:30 AM. However, they actually started preparing breakfast a few minutes later, so you could actually start eating anything around 7:45 AM. Not an issue for somebody who can sleep longer and go skiing afterwards, but since I had to leave at 8 AM (including checking out), it was a bit of an issue. Also, it wasn’t the skiing season, so, there was nobody at the reception for the most of the time, and they apparently tried to spare money on heating, as it was quite cold in the room. Plus, once another quest entered my room with his own card – apparently the staff mixed up the room numbers or something, and gave that guest a key card to my room.

Review 7：Not always someone at the reception. The service at dinner team was not very satisfactory. Based on what they write about the breakfast I expected more choices. Even though the hotel was not full they did not manage to fill up bread, butter etc before it was empty on the buffet.

Review 13：The heating in the room was not working properly even after keeping it at high. The hotel didn't have the basic facilities that one expects from a star hotel. No hair dryers, iron, coffee/ tea. The general cleanliness of the room and the comfort of the bed didn't meet the expectations.

Review 18：Decent mountain hotel, staff was very helpful. Practical set up, probably the best travel baby cot we ever had in any hotel. Staff also provided little step in the bathroom for our child. Shuttle bus ticket included in the price which makes transfer between nearby ski lifts very convenient.

Review 19：The location is good with immediate access to shuttle and regional bus services. Train and bus travel to an from Zurich airport is straightforward. No need to hire a car.

Review 20：We missed our bus to Laax to the mountain and the hostess offered to drive us to the lift. So, we piled our skis in her car and she brought us and refused payment. She was so nice and the hotel was very clean, well maintained, and the breakfast was pretty good.

Review 21：You have to pay a small supplement for the covered parking. There's another parking (uncovered and free) but it's shared with the restaurant.

Review 22：The position is really quite and close to everithing: Cauma lake, shops, restaurants, banks, supermarkets ... Really friendly staff who help us in any request. They gifted us an upgrade in order to allow to try the renewed rooms..wonderful! The room was big, clean, elegant and comfortable, with a nice balcony in front of the mountain. The swimmingpool was quite big and the environment relaxing. The quality/price ratio of the hotel's restaurant was ok if compared with the other restaurants in Flims. Finally, we have a dog and there was no problem. So, an hotel strongly suggested.

Review 23：Breakfast is a little bit dull (no vegetables). Parking lot a bitsmall. Some rooms have wall-mounted beds so that a "doublebed" is actually two singles with a gap in the middle... Not verycomfortable. (But on the other hand, we were offered 3 different roomsto choose from...)

Review 24：The cosy hotel was perfect for our needs. We are a young couple with ababy, and we were looking for a nice place with kitchen facilities. Therooms are nice and clean, the staff was helpful and welcoming. We usedthe hotel parking and a baby cot, and we were not charged for either ofthem (off season). The small kitchenette is well equipped (for 2-4people). Perfect location close to lake Cauma, supermarket and more.Very good view from the room.

Review 75：Hotel des Alpes is a very good vfm, comfy, relaxed, friendly, welcoming,family-fun hotel - a good 3* hotel.We paid c.£80 for one night in a double bedroom, single occupancy in each, with a big, good, all you can eat brekky: cereals, breads, yoghurts, meats and cheese. Hotel has a car-park for c.30 cars underground. It cost us c.£15 for one night. Location is good: it is in Flims Waldhaus. About 10 minutes on free ski bus to the main lifts at bottom of pistes in Flims and Laax. 2 minutes' walk around the corner is the bus station in Flims Waldhaus. You can also walk to lots more hotels and bars in Flims and Waldhaus in 10 -15 minutes. Transfer time: It takes c.30 minutes to drive up the mountain to Laax or Flims from the intercity motorway in the bottom of the valley, which runs past the town of Ilanz (and goes to Zurich in c.2 hours from Ilanz). From Ilanz train station you can take 1 or 2 buses up to Laax or Flims in c.30 minutes. Staff were all friendly, especially the German owner man at reception. Hotel has a comfy, relaxing bar with a grand piano! We didn't hear anyone playing it, though. Bedrooms: 301 is a big double bedroom, modern and bright with a big, comfy double bed, sofa, table, decent en-suite bathroom + shower, TV and a balcony as wide as the room. 302 is a good-sized double bedroom, with fake wooden beams - oddly in a modern hotel it looks like an old farmhouse. It has all the same facilities as 301. Both rooms have a fully equipped kitchen area, just inside the door from the corridor. So, you could easily self-cater and live here very happily for a week. Restaurant served very tasty soup and pizzas - good VFM. Pizzas were about 15 Francs. Wooden sauna was good - terrifically hot, though! A cold water plunge bath, shower and decent, 10 metre pool, (a few degrees too cool), complete the pleasant, relaxing, leisure area.
