Reviews for Hotel Galant

Review 1:Paying additionally for the use of swimming pool and sauna, and much more than what was written on the price list in the room (`oh sorry this price list is an old one!'). Including it in the room price would hide them from my girlfriend. Seeing the additional prices made her hesitant to make use of facilities. Three out of four saunas/steam cabins were closed. Procedures fully booked during the first two days of our stay. Noise of the heater during the night. TV and computer in the room not working.

Review 2:Very good breakfast, nice view from the swimming pool, good location. Good restaurant.

Review 3:The hotel was little bit smelly. Sometimes there was a strange smell in bathroom and the same smell was all the time in the corridor. And the room was a little bit cold, the heating is central in the hotel, so you have to call the reception when you want to heat up the room.

Review 4:The hotel is well situated, just 2 minutes walk from the centre of the town. The room was nice and comfortable and I also liked the wellness centre very much.

Review 5:The price of the swimming pool was excessive - just for a parent and a child, we were charged 500 CZK. Hotel guests should receive discount, particularly children under age of 3 years.

Review 6:Great location, wonderful views from the apartment, very clean rooms, delicious breakfest, friendly staff.

Review 7:you have to pay for welness full price even you are a guest of hotel, the restaurant closes at 10. we slept in underroof room and all night there was some nocking from the roof and really loud aircondition or somethin...

Review 8:room is large and spacy..very nice...

Review 9:Had food at the restaurant next door, the waiter was rude when issues brought to his attention, service and food substandard. There were around 20 of us, we never ate there again. The waitress on the night was very apologetic and helpful.

Review 10:Location and English speaking helpful staff

Review 11:The restaurant belonging to the hotel itself was set to the rear and was ideal with seating area outside and grape vines growing over the walk-through area making it very pretty to look at. However the main head waiter was surly and had a somewhat bad attitude in general. We ordered drinks and opted for starters and a main course with our party of 8 other friends and were disappointed to have to wait almost an hour for the starters to arrive and two hours for the main course to arrive leaving us more than exasperated by the end of it. When we complained about the wait after the starters, the waiter then literally tossed the main course in front of each guest with with no attempt at politeness whatsoever. One guest ordered medium steak which arrived ultra rare. When it was sent back it was returned in exactly the same state. Very disappointed! We used the restaurant in the town square for all other meals with no issues at all!

Review 12:The location was ideal with the town centre just a few minutes walk. The town itself was very picturesque with cobbled streets, a couple of good restaurants, wine cellars, historical buildings etc. There were a number of walks and other tourist attractions such a visit to the caves and a tour of the historical monastery which could be undertaken if desired.

Review 13:The power went off on my arrival and had to wait for 3 hours before I could check in. The receptionist was very apologetic, however, I wasn't offered a discount or some offer to use the hotels facilities. The next shock followed in the morning while having a breakfast. My friend and I both got frankfurters and these were going off. The taste was quite sour. I wanted to use the swimming pool after breakfast and was told to pay 250,- KC per person as I booked a standard room. The final surprise was when we were checking out. I noticed that my invoice was in the name of my friend although I was the one who made a booking. The place is overpriced and run poorly. I was very disssapointed as Mikulov is a beautiful town.

Review 14:The WiFi was connection was very poor. I could not establish and sustain a signal from my room or the breakfast area on the 3rd floor. I had to go the sitting area on the 2nd floor to use the WiFi.

Review 15:Very comfortable, full featured hotel in a great location. Nice breakfast included. Excellent dinner at the adjacent restaurant.

Review 16:Wifi function and coverage was poor, and didn't work in our room. The advertised PC, did not work in our room. The room safe was broken. The pillows on the bed were terrible. The cooking at the restaurant could be more consistent (taste and appearance of dishes varied from day to day). And the advertisement of the pool was deceptive. The use of the pool was not only not included with the hotel (unusual), but was possibly the most expensive pool access in the country (250Kc for adults and 150Kc for children 0+, for 1.5 hours). For the area and services provided, the same quality of facility could be had for a lower price.

Review 17:The room was spacious, the bed large, the climate was comfortable and the hotel clean. The restaurant was convenient and the staff very good and the playground (could have had more attractions), very convenience for us. Breakfast was good, and the staff helpful and pleasant.

Review 18:The price I payed at the hotel was higher than the price I got off booking.com (around £10 person/night) Not sure whether that's the website or hotel's fault?

Review 19:Wellness services - brilliant staff!

Review 20:They charge for everything. They have a pool but they charge $16 USD for two people to use it for an hour and a half. Breakfast was plentiful but poorly prepared. The fried eggs for example, looked and tasted as if they were three days old, almost plastic in texture. Cost for hotel was about double what it was worth.

Review 21:Upscale place.

Review 22:There was a separate, relatively high cost to use the pool. The booking said air conditioning and there was no AC, but they brought us a fan.

Review 23:The rooms were nice, staff was friendly, and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 24:It's strange that wellness is not open after 8pm and before 10 am. When we checked in this hotel for one night at 8pm it was impossible to use swimming pool. Ridiculous is that we had to pay additionally for the cappucino during the breakfast. It is 4 stars hotel so in my opinion it was... funny.

Review 25:Good location and helpful stuff.

Review 26:They wanted to charge extra for using the pool area, although it was not said by the time of booking. Be careful! They said it is only included in the Business room but this it not visible in the conditions by booking. Lack of parking lots, breakfast could be better, staff in the wellness area do not speak English or German at all.

Review 27:Nice facilities, good home-made beer, nice view from room

Review 28:Our room was not cleaned (we stayed two nights) until after a second complain, at 18.20. The reception girl was not interested, and did not tell the management.

Review 29:The management gave us a great discount for the lack of cleaning which we really approved. The wellness area was great. There was a computer in the room that we could use for some of our internet functions. It seems that this city has expensive hotels, maybe because of the boarder to Austria. This hotel was the far most expensive during a trip of 12 days in the country, but not the most exclusive.

Review 30:Welness unusable as all whirlpools had been out of order and water in swimming pool really cold during our stay

Review 31:Great location in the center of really nice town

Review 32:Pool. Town. Great

Review 33:Best breakfast, various food types. Great fresh fruit and vegetable. Tasty food.

Review 34:Wellness extremely expensive

Review 35:The extraordinary and classy breakfast ... You have to taste a local wine, it's special!

Review 36:WiFi coverage is quite bad - practically no access from the room.

Review 37:Good place to stop on the way from Vienna to Prague to enjoy Moravian wines.

Review 38:hotel is very spread out and required a lot of walking with luggage

Review 39:wonderful and versatile breakfast included
