Review 2：The town is very beautiful and peaceful. This hotel was amazing. It is located on the edge of a cliff with a 1/2 mile drop straight down to the valley below. Views of the surrounding mountains were unbelievable. Stunning! The restaurant at the hotel is great. Happy cows and goats wander through town. So cool. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention you have to take a cable car from the valley floor up to the town. How cool is that?

Review 3：The Edelweiss is in a great location with an out of the world view. Right across from the Eiger and the Jungfrau. Try and get a room with a balcony and a view. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is really helpful.

Review 5：The location cannot be beat - hotel is located right on the cliffs of Murren and has AMAZING views. The hotel staff treated us like family and when I got sick even provided free medicine. The owner to the waiter - all we kind and very helpful. The view from our room was a once and a life time experience. We loved it and plan to return anytime we are in the area. We loved it so much we extended our stay.

Review 6：Loved the view off of the back deck of our room. too unbelievable for words. Rooms were very clean, bathrooms spacious. clean rooms , unbelievable views how do you beat that. Breakfast was included and had a lot of choices. would go back!!

Review 7：Oversized flimsy pillows seem to be common throughout Western Europe. They're fine when I fall asleep but if I turn on my side I have to reset the pillow. Yes, a minor issue.

Review 8：The proprietors/restaurant staff were great. They were particularly helpful in figuring out where to hike given our lack or experience and equipment (old inning shoes), and good with a friendly joke.

Review 10：The view from our balcony cannot be described in words.... oh my goodness, it was amaaaazing! To wake up to, go to bed to, and sit and just take in that view of the mountains and valleys was enough to make me happy. BUT! There was so much more to enjoy about staying here. The staff was so friendly and eager to please. The breakfasts were delicious. Mmmm... Bircher Müesli, I will now have to try to make some at home. The rooms were cozy and perfect for our stay. The location was perfect... so close to the train station. But, let's get back to that balcony... OMG!!!!

Review 18：Everything! I had a large, lovely room on the 2nd floor with french doors that opened to a balcony. The view wasn't of the mountains but having the doors open (with clever shutters for security) for the breeze was wonderful since it was rather warm when I was there. The Edelweiss is family owned and everyone was most friendly and helpful to me and my dog in all ways. I stayed 4 nights and can't wait to return. Oh, did I mention I ate outside every morning right on the cliff's breathtaking edge? I see why Murren is described as "halfway to heaven". I'm so happy I chose to stay at the Edelweiss.

Review 19：The balcony was the only source of fresh air. However, the balconies run together and are not separate for each room. I didn't feel safe leaving the doors open at night, despite how hot it was. Not enough lighting in room.

Review 21：We booked a spacious bedroom with a balcony. It was booked the night before. When we arrived we were given a room without balcony not facing the mountains. After looking at my booking I went down to the reception host and informed the lady I did not received what I booked. Her attitude was bad and said " what do you want me to do? You booked late and it is full". At the end we got another room with balcony facing the mountains. We never got the spacious room nor a discount for not having a spacious room as advertised on booking.com This was clearly a case of a guest not receiving the room he saw and booked on booking.com

Review 23：The awesome view outside our window. We could see snow-covered peaks, glaciers. and down to the green valley floor where there was a small village. We also watched paragliders(or something like that) gliding right outside the window!

Review 24：WIFI was week the further the room was from the office. It wouldn't work at all on the balcony. Bummer, but still a great hotel.

Review 26：I loved absolutely everything about this hotel. The owners were very friendly and helpful, we have been upgraded to a room with a mountain view free of charge. The room was small but perfectly cozy, comfortable and impeccably clean. The view from the bed and bathroom was out of the world. We could see the Big Three (Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau) mountains straight from our bed and bath. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, so was the dinner. We have traveled Switzerland for 10 days and stayed in several different hotels, but Murren and Hotel Edelweiss was the highlight of our trip. If Switzerland wouldn't be so expensive, we would return regularly.

Review 27：- the pillow wasn't to my taste, but everything else was quite comfortable and clean. - decor is all a bit out of date, but the bathroom was clean and fairly well updated.

Review 31：A great family feel to this hotel - Sandra and Daniel make sure that guests are looked after without intrusion. The rooms are clean and warm, and the views are breathtaking. A great chef provides a sensible menu, with a well priced wine list to match. 5 mins walk from the station, but luggage is transported on request. Good wifi throughout.

There were so many wonderful hiking trails nearby and the peacefulness of the town and scenery were much appreciated.

Review 38：Room facility lists washing machine. This indicates one would be in theroom but this is not true. There is one in a tiny, dark stairwell but itis 5 Euros for each wash and very inconvenient. We chose this hotel inpart because of the listing of washing machine under "roomfacilities". Room layout odd. No wall between bed and bath. Toiletin glass-sided small room with very large glass door. Everything feltmore for style than function.

Review 39：The woman at check in was very nice and our room was ready early.Breakfast was very nice and attended to very well by the male owner. Theview was great but the lightweight, uncomfortable furniture needs anupgrade at this price.

Review 40：We did have a problem with the heat. Murren was having an early cold spell, and it was difficult to get the room warm. One day staff left the window open. We got back late and the room was freezing! But everyone was so nice I would stay here again.

Review 45：Only rooms on the left hand side have views out to the mountains. Breakfast was average .. Not overly bad but for the price you pay for the room it could be better. Only power point I could find to plug in and charge things was near the door.

Review 46：We opted to downgrade to a smaller room for a view. So check what side of the hotel you will be on if you would like the view. While the room was smaller it was still comfortable. Shower water pressure was good .. Too good in fact. If you have it on fast the water sprays all over.

Review 54：ONLY thing keeping us from giving it PERFECT marks is that there was no coffee or kettle in the room or in the lobby. You had to wait until breakfast opened at 7:30... which is tough when your body clock is off and you're waking up at 5:30 a.m.!!!! EEEEEK. It would be VERY easy to put a hot water kettle and instant coffee in the rooms or make a coffee machine accessible to guests in the sitting room.
