Built in 1908, this Art Deco-style hotel is in Flims, close to the crystal-clear Cauma lake. The hotel is in a sunny wood glade protected from the wind.
The rooms are decorated in Alpine style, and Thomas Mann and his wife Katja were once guests at Sunstar Hotel Flims. All drinks from the minibar are free of charge, and some rooms also have a balcony.

Review 1：Large groups of OAPs in the breakfast room, blocking passages with walking frames. Every single item had to be collected from the breakfast buffet, no decent breakfast tea.

Review 3：Tacky lounge music by a guy on a synthesiser who couldn't sing well, and didn't know the lyrics, but tried to sing anyway - I have never heard a live singer attempt to sing a song with murmurings because he didn't know the lyrics. Could've just played it instrumental. Really not a nice touch for what's supposed to be a 4 star hotel. (If he didn't sing it'd be fine.) Location just a bit far from town (but on the flip side it's really nice next to the forest). Pool is tiny and heated to 28 degrees, which is fine if you can swim laps but since you can't it's a little cold.

Review 4：Lovely quiet location next to the forest near a good walking trail, and still close to the main road, but a little bit away from the town centre. Huge room and bathroom, nice comfy wood decor in the room and hallways. Restaurant is cosy and food is descent (hearty, but not spectacular - my cordon bleu was burnt at the bottom and the dessert with 'warm chocolate sauce' came with cold chocolate sauce). FYI the transport card only allows you to take the 'Shuttle', not all public transport, but the shuttle runs decently frequently and this is probably true throughout Flims. Sauna downstairs is nice. Free parking.

Review 5：Being quoted a price by bookings.com for a nights stay and being charged TWICE the price on check out! £171. checked in at 11pm, checked out at 9am. They had no recollection of our booking and as I did not want to cause a scene I payed up leaving me short on budget for rest of holiday.

Review 9：Evening meal was poor. The hotel caters for elderly groups who had half board based on a buffet dinner, which was basic in quality. We had not booked half board but were obliged to share the buffet. One room was booked as a double but changed to a single two days before. We were still charged the double even though other hotels on the trip managed to accommodate this.

Review 10：The staff are lovely, the rooms are very comfortable and the beds are incredible - it's quite hard to get out of them to go skiing! Don't miss the Caumasee, a stunning lake a short walk from the hotel.

Review 11：The shuttle bus system didn't work too well when it was busy. It was a bit random whether you got on the bus or not even if you were there first.

Review 12：We had very rude people above us who had children running around late at night so hard to sleep. We spoke to hotel management who moved us straight away - can't get better than that.

Review 14：The hot water failed around midnight on new year's eve, which caused one cold night and one cold morning without warm shower. I guess it could have happened anywhere, but the staff did not handle it very well. No apologies and no discount were offered for the discomfort

Review 31：The spa was a bit of a disappointment. The spa area is really small with only a few sunbeds. The pool is very very small and it is not warm enough after a day in the snow. Plus, there is no hot tub. The breakfast was nothing special. Due to these limitations, we thought that the hotel was really expensive. I mean, if it had a great spa/wellness area, then the price would be worth it.

Review 35：Very helpful staff. We were walking up to catch our bus to Chur when the hotel shuttle bus on its way back to the hotel, stopped and picked us up on the street. The driver knew we would miss our bus - he then 'chased' the bus until it stopped again and we could get on. Service above and beyond.

Review 36：Prices for two nights were horrendous, wlan does not work in rooms correctly, baths have 80's decor, staff in restaurant is nice, but has no clue how to be attentive (more a subject of organization that competence), entry hall needs an interior and lighting designer to make it comfy.
